PROJECT INFORMATION
: Product
A3) if the idea involves use of existing intellectual property, give details of the owner of the same and
arrangements of sourcing the innovation and terms of its commercialization.
N/A
A4) Specify the potential areas of application in industry/market:
This can be used in the following applications:
1. Borewell rescue equipment for Infants.
2. Automation of Manual Scavenging
A5) Specify newness/uniqueness of the innovation (better performance/new features/improvements)
This equipment is featured with shadow controlled interface which gives the user a better
operation capability and reduced operation time.
A6) what is already available in market? What is the market potential? What value it would add in
market?
The product which is already available for the same application involves complex control
interface and more operation time. The time constraint is a crucial barrier in rescue hence our
product is designed in such a way that its more user friendly and reduced operation time.
B.
B1) what is the current development status of the innovation/product or service offerings? (Whether
still an idea or ready to launch)
Currently the prototype of the product is ready with fully functional shadow controlled arm which
has the capacity to lift only 1kg payload. The scaled up version of the same prototype would lift up
to 50kgs-60kgs as calculated.
C.
Financial Requirements
C1) Do you have a business plan for taking innovation from lab to market?
Details enclosed in the Annexure I.
C2) What level of funding is required for making
Innovation market ready?
6.35lacs.
C3) Please give activity-wise break-up (Activities include design/prototype development/lab/bench scale

Business Plan
Proposal Summary:
1. What will your product be?
The product is a equipment that can be used for bore well rescue operation and Sewage
cleaning operation.
2. Who will your customers be?
Chennai Corporation and Fire service team are our customers.
3. What prospectus your product has in near future?
Since Manual Scavenging is prohibited in most of the cities our product can take over the
scavenging operation hence the demand would rise and product demand and value would
increase.
Product and Services:
4. Technical specification of your product
The product is a constituent of two main components namely
1. Main Mover
2. Shadow controlled arm
Main Mover specification:
The main mover is the movable part which takes care of the locomotion inside the bore well.
This mover can expand and contract according the bore well dimension automatically and it
maintains a constant pressure between the walls of the bore or drainage and the wheels. The
main mover provides 360 degree rotation for the arm.
Shadow controlled arm
This is simply a robotic arm which acts similar to a human arm with 5 DOF each. The arm
has a gripper at its end and we are designing a real time human arm with finger for the
replacement of the mechanical gripper. The entire arm is controlled through gestures by a
human from the top. The human who is controlling the arm is provided with a live video
feedback. The human should wear a suit in order to control the arm. This suit gives the
position of the human arm wirelessly to the robotic arm without any delay.
