HOME LETTER
Dear Family,
This week well ask, How can you figure out ideas the author doesnt
state directly? In the Informational Text The Albertosaurus Mystery:
Philip Curries Hunt in the Badlands, children will read about a
paleontologist who searches for dinosaur bones. Children will also read
the informational text Finding the Fossils for Fun, which has tips on
where to make your own discoveries.
Activities to Do Together (Parent & Child)
Vocabulary Create a story with your child. Say a sentence about fossils
or fossil hunting. Then ask your child to add another sentence. Include
Target Vocabulary word in each sentence. Continue adding sentences
until the story is complete.
Home Improvement Ask your child to name some favorite animals.
Then, look online or in a reference book for pictures of those animals
skeletons. Encourage your child to draw one of the skeletons, and point
