1. Jog back into our huddle position after the previous play.
2. Center sets the huddle at 7 yards from the L.O.S.
A. prior to the QB entering the huddle every player checks for Down and Distance.
3. C, X, Z will leave the huddle after they hear the snap count.

4. Play call and snap signals
In the huddle the QB will call:
1st - "Team" (key word) - This will inInediately stop
all talking and focus attention to the QB. 2nd - The offensive formation
3rd - The back and direction of motion (if any) 4th - The play
5th - On occasion, he will use a word to indicate the blocking scheme to be used.
6th - He will then call the snap count. Pause for exit of C, X, Z then repeat snap count.
7th - He will then say "Ready-Break!"
Example: Team! Spread.-14- on-l-Cpause C, X, Z exits) - on 1 Ready Rrpa1<
5. Upon leaving the huddle JOG to the L.O.S .
NOTE: Pride in setting up huddle is a must. Break the huddle with great enthusiam -- anything less will not be tolerated.

42 SPLIT Rl.J.E: (4 in middle): Cal1 used by lineman to recognize a specific defensive alignment which calls for a special blocking schene. Guards
and Centers are responsible for determining most advantageous blocking scheme which requires sorne special techniques. (Must be recognized).
BASE BLOCK: Call made by uncovered lineman 'When LB t €I plays tuff. Call Ease which changes up scheme on call side.
COMBO BLOCK: Term used for double-team block. Butt tec.hnique (playside number) by covered lineman and short slide-drive upfield by outside blocker.
OVER-BLOCK: Call made by uncovered lineman to man outside, to change blocklllg assignments. Technique used to pick up running LB I er by reaching the inside blocker over block the LB'er. NOTE: Must be alert to call overblock off t if l.B' ez: moves up arxl plays tuff technique.
ZO~"'E BLOCK: Blocking scheme used in our 14 series designed to influence reading defenses allow'ing us to get lateral movement of defenders.
IXX)DAD BLOCK: (Hip-to-backer). Term used by lineman when the outside blockers aiming point is 12 inches from hip of defender al lovmg him to seal inside then working upfield picking up LE'er. The inside blocker
is responsible for the final block on dow lineman. NOn: Conrnon mistake is to be flat and not being able to work upfield on LB'er.
REACH BLOCK: Usually called by the center to backside vs 42-(split) 8'hgnment block hard gap to side of call - also used vs tuff playing
LBter on outside offense.
CATCH: Term (called in huddle) used by call side guards and tackels which designates uncovered lineman to pull getting-depth, and blocking catcher in option scheme.
G -5CHE.'iE: Tern used for guards to pull and block. linebackers using 8 step-around tech. NOTE: Never green on 2 tech. with Max. splits.
13. G-E sam; Tern used to uncovered lineman to pull and block end area. 4!he G-E block is 8 (stay on the line pull, inside-out. Also, used on some play-action pass-protection.)

14. ZO~Y & SL~: Basic blocking technique used to eliminate defender from getting insIde penetration. We have to read alignment to determine alffiing point of offensive linemen.
15. VEER BLOCK: Used in all Veer call series and trap option. Tackle release with slide step inside then upfield directly to LB'er. NOTE: Veer tech: can also refer to offensive guard releasing inside on Mike LB'er. Turn outside shoulder to avoid down lineman lined up in front of blocker.
16. SEMI-VEER: (Chip) Tech used by offensive lineman, usually tackles, to keep reading technique from keeping off LE'er. Example: Tackle VS. tight 5 tech-step with your inside foot (six in st~p) directly upfield. Second step with outside foot, drive head gear and shoulder-forearm through inside number to hold
tackle from closing, then release off outside foot directly at LB'er. Keep
your eyes on LE'er.
17. F-VEER: Same as semi-veer to free yourself from a good reading technique defender.
Tech: Take a short six inch step to the outside with your outside foot at the same time using a quick head and shoulder move to outside showing the read technique a hook block. Then release inside, pushing off with your outside foot
and Vee'r block LB' er . . . .
NOTE: This must be a quick outside move then get your head back on LB' er. It is easy to get it deep and LB'er run under your release.
18. DRAW - READ & rAKE: Show pass- then take defender most advantageous to get movement; Notes must keep on L.O.S.
19. SCOOP TECH: Term used to explain backside guard technique on basic option plays.
20. AGGRESSIVE MIRROR BLOCK: Pass protection tech, used by covered lineman. Step vi th near foot of covered lineman - MVST GET SQUARE ~1JTII DEfD."DER - Knock him off line of scrimmage, then freeze up and mirror block him. Must get movement off L.O.S. - Maintain blocks, buy time.
21. HARD DROP: TEch used by backside tackle on gap protection. Push off of outside foot dropping at 45° angle setting up ~~th inside foot on guards outside foot.
NOTE: Blocking outside rush.
22. BACKSIDE HIP - TO BACKER: Tech used by backside guard vs 52 (Okie) front - on 14-15 series- Same as Doodad but used on bakes ide only.
23. RUB-OFF: Tech used by center and guard to handle nose and b.s. LB'er. NOTE:
Use only on (12-13 @ 5 or 4).
24. RUB: Used only on 14-15 Rub Play. Tackle chips thru 5 tech & releases for safety. *25. OUT - WHITE: Plays ide guard and tackle block 1st. Man on L.O.S. to your outside.
