4. AUTHORIZATION CONTROL
You may want to restrict access to dashboard, eg, allow only a few users to edit the dashboards etc.
In the dashboard program there are three groups of users for different responsibilities:
ADMIN: setup providers, mass maintenance of dashboards, change configurations, assign user groups
EDITOR: edit dashboards
VIEWER: view dashboard
In addition an ADMIN can set a dashboard to READONLY to prevent further changes from EDITOR.
To assign users or set read only flag:
Step

Screenshot

Navigate to Admin ->

Config tab and enter the
ABAP user IDs separated
by comma (,) without
space
(Note: you will need to
Add config to add the
entries if they don't exist)
Empty value makes
everyone has the role (for
example everyone can
view dashboard)
After saving config the
new authorization will be
effective immediately.

To lock a dashboard:
Navigate to manage
dashboard and select the
Readonly flag
After that the dashboard
will be shown as Readonly
for editors.

5. ANONYMOUS ACCESS
You may want to provide anonymous access URL to the dashboard. For example to distribute the dashboard to
large group of end-users and allow them review the dashboards on iphone/ipads.
Step

Screenshot

First step is to create an

user for anonymous
access.
For example we can
create user
DASHBOARD with
following roles
SAP_SMWORK_TECH_MON
ZSAP_NOTIF_ADMIN
ZSAP_SM_EEM_LEVEl01
ZSAP_SYSTEM_REPOSITORY_
DIS

Change user type to

communication Data user.
Enter password for the
user.
Save settings

Second step is to maintain

an anonymous SICF
service for accessing the
dashboard
Execute transaction SICF
and navigate to following
service
/sap/ac
Double click on the
service name.

Open Logon Data tab

and enter the dashboard
user client, ID and
password.
Save the node.
Make sure the /sap/ac
node is activated.

Maintain the dashboard

user for path
/sap/bc/bsp/sap/zdc
as well. Save settings

Now you can view

dashboard with following
URL without logon:
http://<host>:<port>/sap/b
c/bsp/sap/zdc/dashboard.
html?service=ac

Note: to disable anonymous access you can simply lock the dashboard user, or deactivate the
/sap/ac SICF node.
