Nation branding is about combined effort which should be done by public, businesses,
government, media and other stakeholders. There are some elements which should be
considered while developing a branding strategy for the country. Before diving deep into the
ocean of Nation branding we must develop a vision which describes where you want to see the
country.

In Pakistan the role of government, the people and the media needs to be highlighted. The
governments can encourage multinationals to set up industry in Pakistan by proving them good
and secured platform. The government should revise and make its foreign policy flexible,
develop strong diplomatic and military relation with other nation. In todays competitive world,
solid investment projects play a vital role in determining fate of the nations. Attracting foreign
investment will increase the quality of goods and services offered in Pakistan. This will not only
increase employment but it will also help in an enriched flow of skills, knowledge and
information between different countries thus helping in creating a softer image of Pakistan. The
Government should above all exercise its major role in ensuring a secured and protected state
for its citizens and the tourists. The people of the state can play their role in promoting the rich
cultural heritage of state. Nation branding lies upon the shoulders of the leader of the country
but it is equally dependent on the people. If masses make substantial efforts to enhance the image
of their country, nation branding is easily done and their cooperation is essential to successful
country branding after all masses are the ones that lead their nations towards the heights of
greatness. Culture has an impact on all the walks of life and it is necessary to promote our culture
to help break the stereotypes damaging our global image. Another benefit of promoting culture is
that it links a countrys past with the present and it helps in making other people understand the

uniqueness and behavior of a nation. Promoting a diverse culture can become a competitive edge
for Pakistan in enhancing its global image. The media in Pakistan has developed strongly over
the years but it is not being used in a justified way and conveying a bad image of Pakistan
globally. The medium is strong and should be used properly to ensure that a positive and
peaceful message is being delivered to the world about Pakistan. The celebrity who should be
used to promote the nation is Shahid Afridi who is a star loved across the world.

Attracting tourists:
Tourism being one of the largest industries in the world and a major source of revenues for many
countries must be given its due importance. Pakistan has famous tourist places as it has
everything ranging from mighty mountains, shining rivers, large deserts, rich historical places
etc. Pakistan can promote its places which are its major product to attract foreign tourists across
the globe.
