paper.

SYNOPSIS

Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd is the first islami bank in our

country. As like any other commercial bank they use same
process for record keeping and completing accounting
transactions with some exceptions. These exceptions are for
islamic shariah which they have to be obey and maintain.
In this report we have tried to shown the record keeping
procedure of this institution. After making any transactions in
the bank at first they recorded it in the journal book of the bank.
But after computerizing all the branches they directly record all
accounts under their own heading in the ledger sheet which is
maintain in the computer.
Journalizing and posting the transactions is the main works of
the bank which are performed during the accounting period.
After accounting period they prepare a trial balance of the
accounts and complete the worksheet and from this they prepare
all the financial statements in every branch. In a certain time
every branch sends their financial statements in the corporate
office of the bank. After getting all financial statements of all
branches they consolidate these statements as a final annual
report of the bank. Before publishing this report its accuracy has
to be proved by the Chartered Accountants firm and shariah
council of the bank.
