KNOWN LIMITATIONS
Anti-Theft
From Android 4.4 (KitKat) onwards, SMS AT messages cannot be removed from Inbox
programmatically by SAFE app due to the way Android platform handles SMS messages.
Only the SMS app has capabilities to remove messages, meaning that the user can and has
to remove the messages manually.
To make sure that the security code is not misused, user should change the code.
Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) registration may take some time to complete, and while
registration is still pending, Antitheft may be unusable during that time. Sometimes a device
boot is required before Antitheft services are usable. Also GCM itself has some reliability
issues that may cause some AT commands to be missed.
In Android OS versions older than Android 5.0 admin reset sent from the admin portal (MSP)
does not work properly if the target device is encrypted.
Admin reset does not always dismiss the device screen lock if the device has phone
capabilities but SIM card is not inserted. User is able to proceed by pressing the power button
twice.
From Android OS version 4.2 and up, Anti-Theft wipe does not affect external memory such
as SD cards. It is recommended that user turns on SD card encryption, if supported, or uses
internal memory to store sensitive information.
SIM change device locking does not work if the device screen lock is not defined.
Lock does not work if a third-party application like Advanced locker, which disables system
screen lock, is installed on the device. To resolve the issue, user has to uninstall the third
party application.
Admin reset sent from the admin portal (MSP) does not work if face recognition is enabled in
Android 4.0 devices. Face recognition itself supports alternative opening method(s).
Anti-Theft cannot be enabled if user does not accept the application to have device
administration rights. This also applies to Anti-Theft remote settings.
Anti-Theft does not work if devices storage is very low.
Chrome URL safety checking
Warning dialog dismissed when leaving the view and coming back, when receiving intent from
another application, like receiving a phone call
Incognito mode not supported
History: unsafe pages not separated in the browser history

Dolphin URL safety checking

Via Dolphin Add-ons manager you can uninstall the whole client and not only the Add-on.
If JavaScript is disabled navigating via block page is not working and from the languages only
English is supported.
Dolphin safety checking does not get enabled via client if it is disabled manually via Dolphin
Privacy Applications
Rating list is not refreshed when SD card is dismounted. This means that if application
installation is moved to SD card and SD card is dismounted, Application Privacy still lists the
application though without any details.
Android Browser
Delay in showing warning dialog with low end devices is caused by large number of items in
browsing history AMS-5605
Safe Browser
Safe Browser plugin for built-in browsers are not supported in Android 6.0
Android browser performance may suffer if the browser has a massive browsing history and
Safe Browser is on. Clearing the browsers navigation history can solve the problem
A context menu, similar to what is displayed in Android OS (AOSP) browser is not currently
shown in the Safe Browser. Shall be supported at later time
Page up, page down and zooming on devices equipped with a hardware keyboard like
supported by the Android OS (AOSP) browser is not supported by Safe Browser. Shall be
supported at later time.
Unlike in Android OS (AOSP) browser, a web page favorite icon also known as a favicon is
not displayed on the Safe Browsers address bar when page is loaded. Shall be supported at
later time.
Screen capture not supported in certain views in Safe Browser; Bookmarks, recently visited
pages and home page view. Shall be supported at later time.
Web views in the main app package are still based on the Android OS (AOSP) browser
component. Shall be implemented based on the Safe Browser engine (Crosswalk) at later
time.
The new Safe Browser works in emulated mode in devices with x86 processor architecture.
User experience may be degraded at times. Native x86 compilation to be supported at later
time.
Vulnerabilities CVE-2014-6041, CVE-2015-4000 and CVE-2015-0204 affect F-Secure Safe
Browser until the next stable version of Crosswalk WebKit is published where these are
patched, and until that version is integrated to Safe browser.
Safe Browser jumps to foreground randomly with Android 5.0
Safe contacts
Incoming messages cannot be blocked in Android 4.4 (KitKat) and newer devices

Anti-Virus
Some devices mount the SD card in read-only state, so the application cannot delete any files
or infections on them. User can check the location of those files from infection details and
delete them manually. User still receives warning of all infections.
Manual scanning does not work if devices storage is very low.
Automatic scan of downloaded files downloaded on F-Secure Safe Browser supported in Safe
Browser only. Other browser not supported due limitations on Android OS.
Safe Browsing
If the web site reputation query is timed out, user can navigate to possibly malicious site.
Exception: in Parental Control mode navigation is blocked if reputation query is timed out.
Safe Browser User Agent will only return the device model and not the model number
Block, Activate, and Upgrade subscription pages are only shown in English if JavaScript is
disabled
Android browser URL safety checking
No warning if navigating to an unsafe page through bookmarks, bookmark shortcuts, or saved
pages
Warning dialog dismissed when leaving the view and coming back, when receiving intent from
another application, like receiving a phone call
Incognito mode not supported
History: all built-in browsers don't record unsafe pages to the history
Remote Settings
Successful remote settings management depends on the administrator, for instance setting an
Anti-Theft security code with proper length and complexity
General
If Mobile Security is bought from Google Play, user can install it again for free but when Mobile
Security is activated, service backend generates a new account for it. Separate accounts
mean that in-app-purchase will extend the subscription for only one single account for a single
device, but not for all accounts and devices the user may have.
User is required to re-activate Mobile Security if they manually clear application data from
device settings
Multi-user functionality introduced in Android 4.2 for tablet devices is not supported. Mobile
Security application can be installed in several user accounts but we recommend that it be
installed only for the main user.
Long notifications with several lines of text are only shown properly on Android 4 devices
When downgrading, the existing Mobile Security has to be uninstalled first
If Mobile Security has been given device administration rights, they have to be removed
before the application can be uninstalled

Mobile Security cannot be installed on LG devices with preinstalled F-Secure Mobile Security.
When the application starts, it checks for a previous version and refuses to continue until the
previous version is removed. User cannot remove the preinstalled application.
In Android 5.0 Pattern screen lock is reset with admin reset, but device shows PIN screen lock
that can be dismissed by entering blank security code. We need to wait for next Android 5.x
release and hope this issue is fixed.
Call blocking: Even call blocking enabled, the phone may 'chirp' briefly before the call is
blocked on Samsung devices due the Samsung proprietary Call UI implementation
ICE number: 3rd party widgets (such as ICE) are not supported on stock Galaxy S5:

Dual-SIM card usage not supported
