JUDICIAL AFFIDAVIT OF HANSEL R. JALALON

PRELIMINARY STATEMENT
The person examining me is Atty. Marc Gretel R. Madanguit
with office address at Ground Flr, 1st Dr, V. Villa Estrella Apartment,
Rahmann Extension, Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City. The examination is
being held at the same address. I am answering her questions fully
conscious that I do so under oath and may face criminal liability for
false testimony and/or perjury.
FORMAL OFFER
This Judicial Affidavit of HANSEL R. JALALON is executed to
serve as her direct testimony in the instant case. This Judicial
Affidavit is offered to prove the following:
1. The above named person is a witness in the instant case;
2. She personally executed this judicial affidavit;
3. The allegations in this complaint, including the annexes
appended thereto, which she respectfully request to be
correspondingly marked as exhibits in this case;

4. The matters related thereto, with reservation to present

additional exhibits in the course of the proceedings of the
instant case;
5. All other related matters, facts and circumstances relevant and
material to this case;
6. During her testimony, she will identify pertinent documents
relevant to this case.
I, HANSEL R. JALALON, Filipino, of legal age, single and a
resident of Upper Level, 3rd Door Vailoces Apartment, Rahmann
Street, Gorordo Avenue Cebu City, under oath, hereby depose and
state:
Q1: Madam witness, what is your relationship, if any, with the victim,
Prince Jhudiel Solis?
A1: He is my close friend and classmate in law school from last year
up to this semester.
Q2: As you said, he was your classmate in law school from last year
up to this semester. Can you remember when was this?
A2: From first semester of 2014, around June to February of this year
until his demise.
Q3: As you said, he was your close friend. How close are you with the
victim?
A3: I can say that we are very close as we go out almost always after
class to eat dinner and study together during holidays and weekends.
Q4: Based from your statements, are you saying that you know the
victim very well?
A4: Yes Maam.
Q5: Showing to you a picture, would you happen to know the person?
A4: Yes Madam, that is Prince Solis.
Q6: I would like to manifest that the witness identified the man in the
picture as Prince Solis. I am marking this as exhibit A. Do you confirm
my action?
A6: Yes Maam.
Q7: How about the accused, madam witness. How are you related to
Mr. Asoque if there was any?
A7: He was also one of our close friends.
Q8: From your statement, you said was. Can you elaborate on this?

A8: After the incident I refused to make contact with him as I am

afraid of my own safety. I have seen with my own two eyes the
incident that lead to my friends killing and as much as it breaks my
heart that we end up like this I have rationally decided to stop all
connection with him.
Q9: You said you seen with you own two eyes the incident and the
killing of your friend. Whose killing are you referring to?
A9: Im referring to the killing of Prince Jhudiel by my old friend Van
Roe Asoque.
Q10: From your prior statement, you said you witness the killing, can
you relate this to this honourable court?
A10: It was January 12, 2016 at around 5pm when Prince and I met
outside our house at Vailoces Apartment, Rahman Extension Gorordo
Avenue Cebu City when a man in jacket and pants came to him and
stabbed him twice. After the second stabbed he looked at me before
finally escaping.
Q11: From your previous statements, you said that the one who killed
the victim was the accused, Mr. Asoque. Please correct me if Im
wrong.
A11: You are correct maam. I am sure that it was my old friend Mr.
Asoque. As after the stabbing he looked at me before finally escaping
and I am very much familiar with his face.
Q12: You said that you are very familiar with his face. Can you
elaborate?
A12: I am very familiar with his face because like Prince we always
go out together after class and Ive known him for more than 4 years.
Q13: How sure are you that the accused was Mr. Asoque?
A13: Very much sure maam.
Q14: Showing to you a picture, would you happen to know the
person?
A14: Yes Madam, that is Van Roe Asoque.
Q15: I would like to manifest that the witness identified the man in the
picture as Prince Solis. I am marking this as exhibit B. Do you confirm
my action?
A15: Yes Maam.
Q16: Do you attest to the truthfulness of your statements and
allegation in this Judicial Affidavit?
A16: Yes I do.

I, Atty. Marc Gretel R. Madanguit, of legal age, Filipino, with
postal and office address at Ground Flr, 1st Dr, V. Villa Estrella
Apartment, Rahmann Extension, Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City after
being duly sworn depose and say:
1. I was the one who conducted the examination of witness
Hansel R. Jalalon at my aforementioned office at Ground Flr,
1st Dr, V. Villa Estrella Apartment, Rahmann Extension,
Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City;
2. I have faithfully recorded and caused to be recorded the
questions asked and corresponding answers that the witness
gave;
3. Neither I nor any other person then present or assisting her
coached the witness regarding her answers;
4. The questions asked were propounded in English, a language
which the witness fully understand;
5. The witness answers were given in English.
