Introducing the concept

Using an open teaching
material portal to share the
idea, tasks and guidance
Pitch the idea through
teaching committee or OAJ.
Contact and inform all student
counselors of this material.
Potentially all the student
counselors in Finland could be
using this kit.

The Undercover Student

My most interesting relative

Choose a school subject that you are not very keen on.
Attend a lecture normally but this time with different
eyes! Use your imagination and twist the unpleasant
lecture into a dream job of the future.

Start by asking your parents of all your relatives

occupations. List the persons and their occupations
Choose the most interesting occupation and call/meet
that relative.

Add the following to your board:

1. What was the lecture about? Explain briefly with
pictures and text
2. Based on the subject and the lecture, try to imagine
yourself a future job that you could even like.
3. Draw or Record an audio clip where you explain
it. Where would you work? What would you do?
What would you need to change in order to make it
interesting for you?

1. Ask in detail:
-what is that they do?
-how they like it and why?
-what is the most important aspect of their work?
-where and what they studied, was it helpful?
-what other jobs they have done in their past?
Add the interview to your board as an audio clip or a
text.
2. (Optional) Visit this relatives work place and capture
the most inspiring things you find!

Coming back to the
