MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 13-15; Mark 2
Monday, February 22

Micah 5:7 And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew
from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the
sons of men.
Heavenly Father and Lord:
If that verse is true of your physical children Israel, then how much more
should it be true of me, because when saints are what they ought to be, then they
are a blessing and a witness in all the places they are scattered. In every area of
our city Lord! make me and the other members of Harvest like a cool drink of
water to the lost who surround us.
I SHOULD BE LIKE THE DEWin a quiet and unobtrusive way refreshing
those who come in contact with me. Help me effectively (even if silently) minister
to the life, joy and growth of those outside Christ who work, study, play and live
with me, like __________ and __________.
Make this the testimony of our entire church! Coming fresh from heaven,
and glistening like diamonds in the sun, make us gracious men, women and
youth, who attend to the spiritual needs of others until each blade of grass has its
own drop of dew. We owe them that much!
I may be but a small drop as an individual, but when united with other
witnesses I can be sufficient for the purpose you want to achieve. Dewdrops
refresh acres. Lord, make my testimony and witness like the dew!
I SHOULD BE LIKE THE SHOWERSgodly people who arrive at your
bidding without mans permission or prevention. Let me, like the rain, keep
working for you whether certain others desire me to or not. Make me boldly
prompt and free in the service you assign me this week in preparation for Easter
and spring, for I ask it in Jesus all-powerful name. Amen.
A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING
Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 22-24; Mark 4:21-41
Thursday, February 25

Gen. 32:12 And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of
the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

O FOR a thousand tongues to sing my great Redeemers praise,

The glories of my God and King, the triumphs of His grace!
My gracious Master and my God, assist me to proclaim,
To spread through all the earth abroad the honors of Thy name.
Jesus! the name that charms our fears, that bids our sorrows cease;
Tis music in the sinners ears, tis life, and health, and peace.
He breaks the power of canceled sin, He sets the prisoner free;
His blood can make the foulest clean, His blood availed for me.
He speaks, and, listening to His voice, new life the dead receive,
The mournful, broken hearts rejoice, the humble poor believe.
Hear Him, ye deaf; His praise, ye dumb, your loosened tongues employ;
Ye blind, behold your Savior come, and leap, ye lame, for joy.

TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE

Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 16-18; Mark 3
Tuesday, February 23

Luke 12:50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it
be accomplished!
Holy Lord and Savior:
Being fully man, you escaped none of the pains allotted to men and women
like meeven in death. You are indeed God with us everywhere (Matt. 1:23),
including the accident scene, the murder location, and the hospital bed.
You were so truly human, all my griefs remind me of you! How near akin I
am to the anxiety of Gethsemane, the beating of Gabbatha, and the mocking of
Golgotha. Let pain make me love you more and more.
There was an infinite distance between your throne and your crown of
thorns. A river of the water of life proceeds from the throne, but the thorncrowned brow condescended to say,
John 19:28 I thirst.
You placed yourself for my sake into a position of shame, where none
would wait on you, and most would not even look at you. Glorious humiliation
for our exalted Head! O Lord Jesus, I love and adore you. I will lift your name on
high in grateful remembrance of the depths to which you descended.
Neither in torture of heart nor infirmity of body am I deserted by you,
Lord. My line is parallel with yours. The tip of the spear that just pierced me was
first stained with your blood. The cup I drink right now, though very bitter
indeed, bears the print of your lips around its brim.
Shame? Suffering? Injustice? Misunderstood? Misused? Disrespected?
Abused? Use this to bring me into deeper sympathy with Christ! My tears are the
bread of heaven to strengthen me for the time of conflict. I will be able to win
in battle because I have endured in trial. So give me such grace. Amen.
FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 25-27; Mark 5:1-21
Friday, February 26

Rom. 15:30 Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christs sake, and for the
love of the Spirit,
Heavenly Lord:
FOR THE LOVE OF THE SPIRIT, revive in us the attitude of a child.

Make it natural for us to take our cares and cast them on you

Make us know and feel we are accepted and beloved in Christ

Make us perfectly content with the great Fathers will

For that will make all of us the envy of the lost! They will envy our peace
and joy in believing. It is happy saints who become the most efficient
witnesses to the world.
FOR THE LOVE OF THE SPIRIT, revive holiness as our delight. Make our
holiness not a mere morality, out of some hard sense of duty. Holiness should
be the entirety of our humanity fully consecrated to Christ, and molded to
his image by submission to his will. In that way, holiness is tied to living
Gods Eternal Purpose. That is the one thing our church must have, yet never
can apart from the Sanctifier. He sets us apart for sacred use. There is not a grain
of holiness anywhere except what exists by the operation of your Holy Spirit.
Anointed words preach to those in our congregation, but it is the acts of
our church that preach to the community! Help us support the testimony of our
pastors by our actions. There is no likelihood of victory if Achans sin is in the
camp. Do many mighty works in us because of our consecration to your mission.
FOR THE LOVE OF THE SPIRIT, revive our prayer life. Prayer is the creation
of your Spirit. We cannot do without prayer and we cannot pray without the Holy
Ghost (Rom. 8:26). Make us desperately dependent on him. Give us more love of
the Spirit so our spiritual power might grow. For Jesus sake we ask this. Amen.

WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 19-21; Mark 4:1-20
Wednesday, February 24

Job 23:4 I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.
My Father and My God:
WHAT ORDER SHOULD I OBSERVE IN PRAYING FOR REVIVAL?
First, I have to feel like, in praying, I am doing something real.
Second, I have to recognize I have no right to demand what I seek; I can
only expect to receive it as a gift of your free grace.
Third, I must consider what I will ask for, focusing my mind by ordering
my arguments.
Fourth, I will ask for it through Jesus Christ.
If I would just reflect before I pray, I would see how many things I want,
which I would be better off not getting! When I meditate a moment first, I often
discover a motive at the bottom of my request that is not Christlike. It is selfish.
It forgets Gods glory, and caters only to my own sense of comfort.
Lord, never let my ease interfere, or my success impede, or my selfish
happiness halt in any way your glory. Mingle with my acceptable prayer a holy salt
of submission to your will.
At the same time, if I know what I ask for is to your glory, I will be like
Jacob, wresting at the Jabbok. I will seek to pin the angel of the Lord, rather
than be sent away without the blessing you promise.
Help me today to put these things together. First, a deep spirituality that
recognizes prayer as real conversation with the invisible God. Second, a
distinctiveness borne from the reality of prayer that is purpose-driven for what I
know you want. And third, an earnest fervency, believing my prayer to be the
necessary prerequisite to revival. But above all else, I submit to your will, for this
is how I must order my arguments and plead my cause before you, Lord. Amen.
SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 28-30; Mark 5:22-43
Saturday, February 27

Psa. 119:46 I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.
Glorious God and King:
What a multitude of mercies comprise my salvation. There are the mercies
of sparing me before my conversion, and mercies leading me to conversion.
There is calling mercy, regenerating mercy, converting mercy, justifying mercy,
and forgiving mercy.
The ultimate problem on every human mind is guilt. Guilt wounds me, and
is not removed except through the mercy of justification, by faith in Christs
blood.
Then there are the many mercies I need to get me safely to heaven.
Salvation is surely a combination of mercies beyond comprehension, priceless in
value, never-ending in application, and enduring for eternity. To you be the glory!
David stood before kings while he was an exile from Saul. Later, he
sanctified politics, and let the members of his cabinet know you were the real
Governor. As a king he spoke to kings about the King of kings.
Psa. 119:45 And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.
Diplomacy suggested he not bring up the matter of his religious
convictions. We always fear to talk about religion in the presence of royalty (they
often worship other gods). He said, I will walk, but he does not allow his
righteous conduct and godly lifestyle to be an excuse for sinful silence. So he also
adds, I will speakand not be ashamed.
God, give grace to vanquish my cowardice! I have no need to fear if I
operate in faith. If I speak for you I will not be embarrassed, but be given your
power. This I look for, so I can go beyond lifestyle evangelism to having
evangelistic lips. Help me do this today for Jesus sake and the gospel. Amen.

HOW TO BUILD A BALANCED LIFE

THIS WEEKS EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

PRAYER DIARY

TIMEWORSHIP

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)

TITHEWORK

1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God
hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)

TEAMWORD

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
