Queens for the King

Fabulous February 2016

God really blessed our family this month. The
Sweetwaters bible study has really grown. God sent us 4
wonderful Christian girls from the UK to intern at
Ethembeni alongside us. Local volunteer participation on
home visits has increased. The people in the community
are receptive and excited about the teaching they are
receiving from God's Word. Doors are opening at the local
community school. We are wanting to spread God's word
there. Elizabeth and Jacob have enjoyed connecting with
long-time friends. Grove Level wants to bless us with
updating our vehicle situation. Our cup is overflowing in
thankfulness and praise to the Lord for all He is doing.

Sweetwaters Connect Group

It has been exciting to watch the
spiritual growth in the young adults
in our Sweetwaters bible study. We
have been studying prayer, the Holy
Spirit, and how to read God's Word
this month. The students have been
bringing their friends with them as
well. This has grown the group
which is thrilling. Now the kids are
asking us about going to Shiya's and
evangelizing too. So great to see
their passion and desire to respond
to the Great Commission.

Shiya's House Group

Every other week, Anne Brews, the interns, Thabile/Spu (our interpreters)
and I go visit these 4 ladies. Today, they heard the bible story on Noah's
Ark. We are working through the Bible to explain salvation and plan to go
over the Resurrection at Easter. After the Bible story & prayer, Anne is
teaching us all to knit. Many of the ladies need your prayers for healing.
Jabulile's daughter cannot walk and needs a miracle. Please pray the folks
at the clinic will get her the help she needs.

Bible Story Time

We are very exciting about the
reading progress of this house
visit group. We have children's
Bibles in Zulu. Each person takes
a turn reading a paragraph as we
move through the Scriptures.
Then we discuss what God has
shown us. Anyone can learn to
read at any age. We will see if
this is also true about knittingHA!

The Tear Fund Intern Crew

What a blessing these four girls have been to us and the community.
Lindsay, Kirsty, Emily, and Leah are the Christian girls God has sent us for
the next 6 months. Pray for them as they learn to share their faith with the
people. Thomas and I desire to see them grow spiritually as they train in
several evangelism techniques. They will lead devotions on house visits
eventually. In the picture, they are teaching the children a Bible song after
homework club. Hand motions are super popular!

Homework Time
Daily from 2-4 pm, the interns work
with the children of Mpophomeni in
after school homework programs.
They do extra reading with children to
improve literacy. They teach English
concepts and assist in Math
homework. They can lead a devotion
at the end of the session too. It is a
great opportunity to mentor the
children in the community and
influence them for God's Kingdom.

Sweet Reunions
Elizabeth had a ball seeing all her old pals at the Keeter wedding or
hanging around Lee. She even caught the wedding bouquet
whenever she wasn't dancing the night away. She is looking forward
to Spring Break but until then she is studying away. She has done well
with her Calculus exams so far. She will hear about her RA application
after Spring Break. She just wants what God wants regarding that
position. Thanks to everyone who has and is praying for her.

Sweet Treats!
Jacob had a solid swimming month. His team
won both its swim meets. He set a meet record
for the free style race at Howick High. His water
polo team won a match at Hilton. He scored a
personal best of 7 goals in the match. His
teachers are pleased with his academic progress
first term. So he passed the 1st parent-teacher
conference-whew! How better to celebrate such
a great month but with food? He can cook it up
nowbut Cinnabon is still his favorite subject
and an old friend!
