Nistico and American flutist Marla Nistico. Duo Velas main goals are to break the classical
norm and challenge the traditional audience & performer relationship. This is done by:
staying as true as possible to the performance practices of the musical origins (i.e.
Baroque style/Piazzolla/etc..), speaking and interacting with the audience all throughout
the performance, encouraging the audience to ask questions, take pictures and record as
they wish, and by the occasional use of multi-media to enhance the audio and visual
experience for the audience.
