Course synopsis

I-VIII

Demonstrate health assessment of the critically ill patient with


the problem of cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases
Analyze health assessment findings.
Formulate comprehensive nursing care plan for patients with
cardiovascular and respiratory disorder in critical care area.
Monitor patients hemodynamic status intensively
Administer drugs needed by critically ill patients safely.
apply holistic nursing care to patients who need mechanical
ventilator support by inculcating Islamic or individual religion
perspective
Realize the importance of patients safety by providing holistic
and safe individualized nursing care to critically ill patients.

This course enables students to practice and apply the knowledge,


skill and attitude taught in classrooms at the clinical settings.
Students will be posted to these critical care areas:
a.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for 4 weeks to provide intensive
care to the critically ill patients who need pulmonary and cardiac
support.
b.
Coronary Care Unit (CCU) for 2 weeks to care patients with
coronary diseases.
c. Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CICU) for 2 weeks to care
patients with cardiothoracic surgery.
