UNEDIC PREDICTS DECLINE IN UNEMPLOYMENT IN 2016

23/02/2016
UNEDIC, the National Professional Union for Employment in Industry and Trade in France, predicts a reduction of
25 000 unemployed people in 2016, according to financial forecasts of the organization published this Tuesday.
This "slight decrease" is primarily due to the massive plan of 500,000 additional training for unemployed announced by
Franois Hollande.
These forecasts are however less optimistic than the last prediction in October (decline of 51,000 jobseekers in
category A (non-business) in 2016).

This decline, reflects a downward revision of growth forecasts, should lead to a deficit of 4.2 billion euros for the regime,
which is more than expected.
These figures were released in time for negotiations on a new unemployment insurance agreement.
