he 3rd Parenthood Expo made a come back this time, with more exciting
activities, promotions, and greater responses from the public. This Expo was a
The 3rd joint effort of Harenet Communications, Today Publishing and 21 other
Parenthood co-sponsors. The first activity of the day, ‘Daddy, Please Change My Diaper,’
Expo 2007 — organised by Huggies, marked the beginning of the 3rd Parenthood Expo this year.
Throughout the three-day Expo, from 17th till 19th August, held at the Mid Valley
the biggest Exhibition Centre (MVEC), parents, parents-to-be and children swarmed in, to get the best
mother and deals available for baby’s products, as well as, children-parents related products.

 Today Publishing had also taken this opportunity to offer
its readers a variety of promotions and hot deals. For
instance, three magazines of a visitor’s choice were only
sold at RM10, and those who signed up for a three-month
subscription of any of the magazines, namely, Parenthood,
MamiBaby or MomBaby, got their family portraits taken
by the assigned photographers for free. Apart from these,
the first 650 visitors of each day during the Expo could
redeem a free goodie bag from Today Publishing’s booth
by presenting the cut-out coupon from the August issue
of Parenthood, MamiBaby or MomBaby magazine.
Throughout the three-day Expo, all the 44 exhibition
booths were packed with parents and children, as well as
pregnant mothers, grabbing the best deals available to
stock up their baby products. Free samplings were also
available at these exhibition booths. BabyLove (M) Sdn
Bhd, Cellsafe Sdn Bhd, Cryocord Sdn Bhd, Heinz Malaysia
Representative, Jordan Fashion Sdn Bhd, Maya Toba Sdn
Bhd, Nestle Products Sdn Bhd, StemLife (M) Sdn Bhd and
Tongee (K.L.) Sdn Bhd were some of the major companies
that participated in the Expo.
Parenthood’s Hot Pregnant Mama of the Year 2007 was
held during the first day of the Expo. 10 glowing pregnant
mothers managed to capture the crowd’s attention as they
paraded on the stage in their best outfits, with their little
bumps. Charmaine Chen walked away with the Grand Prize
consisted of RM500 worth of baby products, while first
runner-up, Cindy Tee Sean Li took away RM300 worth of
baby products, followed by the second runner-up, Ong
Guay Khuan who brought home RM200 worth of baby
products. The three winners are also entitled to a one-
year free subscription of any of the magazines published
by Today Publishing, namely Parenthood, MamiBaby or
MomBaby. The remaining seven finalists also received

a hamper each as a token of appreciation for their
participation.
The excitement heightened during the Preliminary Search
for Parenthood’s Modern Mom & Baby of the Year 2007.
All 20 semi-finalists, dressed in their best outfits, paraded
on the stage with their children, showcasing their
confidence and intelligence as a modern mum. Apart from
the catwalk, each contestant was directed with two
questions by the judges. The contestants were judged
based on their spontaneity and creativity in answering
questions, as well as their personality and confidence on
stage. After a tough round of competition, the 20 semi-
finalists were short-listed to 10 finalists.
Madam Harjit Kaur and her son, Gavinderjit Singh Chima,
emerged as the Grand prize winners of the Parenthood’s
Modern Mom & Baby of the Year 2007, who brought home
RM1,500 worth of baby products. She also won the chance
to be featured on the cover of Parenthood’s October issue.
Claiming the Second Prize worth RM800 of baby products
were Madam Law Yee Leng and her son, Bryant Siew Mun
Hong. Madam Lim Sei Wei and her son, Nathaniel Shawn,
clinched the Third Prize title, bringing home RM500 worth
of baby products. These winners are also entitled to a
one-year free subscription of any magazine title under
Today Publishing.
However, the remaining seven finalists did not leave
empty-handed, as they also received hampers of baby
products from the co-sponsors as consolation prizes, so
were those semi-finalist who were not selected for the
final round. Besides, all 17 semi-finalists were also entitled
to a six-month free subscription of any magazine title
under Today Publishing. All in all, the 3rd Parenthood Expo
2007 was a great success!
