A dual power supply is required to power many audio equipments for example preamplifiers, equalizers,

mixers etc. The 24V dual power supply circuit mentioned here can be used to power the above mentioned
audio equipments and also work with other equipments which needs 24V dual power supply. This power
supply circuit can provide the output current upto 1A. The circut is using two voltage regulator ICs, one is
LM7824 which is a positive voltage regulator IC and the other is LM7924 which is a negative voltage
regulator IC. The transformer can be any 230V AC or 110V AC to 24V also use suitable heatsinks with the
ICs. For D1 to D4 use diodes between 1N4001 to 1N4007 any diode between this range will work or use 1A
diode bridge.

A 24V DC power supply circuit using LM7824 IC. LM7824 is a 24V 1.5A fixed output voltage regulator IC,
available in TO 220 package. It is an IC of LM78xx series, this series contains many fixed output voltage ICs
like LM7815 is designed for fixed 15V output and LM7818 is for fixed 18V output. You can find many other
circuits of this series ICs on the power supply circuits page. These ICs have many built in features like
overheat protection short circuit protection etc. All the important circuitry has been built inside the IC
therefore very mumimum external components are required. As the circuit mentioned below using only few
capacitors. The transformer shown in the diagram is a 220V to 24V 2A transformer you can also use a 110V
to 24V 2A transformer here. D1 is a 2A diode bridge and 1N4001 diode is used to block feedback to the IC.
The IC become hot during the operation due to which it requires a suitable heatsink

A high current 9V power supply circuit can be made easily by using a transistor with LM7809 IC. The figure
below shows a 9V 5A power supply circuit, in this circuit a TIP2955 transistor is used for boosting output
current of the LM7809 positive voltage regulator IC. You can also use other similar transistors in theplace of
TIP2955.
The circuit is also using a 220V or 110V to 12V 5A step down transformer, a 10 ampere diode bridge to
rectify the voltage coming from the transformer, a 3300uF capacitor for filtering and others are for
decoupling.

A very simple zener diode 9V dual power supply can be made with using only few components. The whole
circuit can be made in few minutes if all parts are available with you.
This dual power supply circuit is ideal for the projects which have low current requirements. A 230V to 12V
500mAtransformer is used to step down mains voltage to 12V. The four 1N4001 diodes are used to for
rectification of the voltage coming from the transformer. A 250uF electrolytic capacitor is used for filtering
purpose and the two 150 ohms resistors are used to provide required current to the 9.1 volt zener diodes
which are performing voltage regulation task.
