I would like to bring up a subject today which is quite controversial, a subject that often

stirs up the foundations of believe, and of which so many people disagree.

Dreams and visions have historically been used by Sorcerers, Magicians, Seers, Oracles
and Prophets, many at times in different contexts, and with a plethora of purposes. They
have brought kingdoms dawn, they have raised new empires, they have caused so much
damage that throughout history there is not any other subject which has been more
important in the spiritual context.
One thing I can affirm categorically is that in its most pure form, dreams and visions have
commonly been the source of revelation to the great men of God, it has also been a
source of Manipulation in the hands of charlatans dressed as divine oracles, sorcerers and
seers.
The great prophets of God were all killed or imprisoned, abused or disrespected, as they
were usually the bearers of bad news, Doom Sayers of sort.
And historically there have not been many true prophets who have ever brought to men
anything other than warnings of catastrophe or damnation as corrective measures
following their wickedness or to fulfill the purpose of the almighty God.
The Bible speaks of Enoch whom was eventually taken into heaven, and Noah who
brought to the world a message of salvation and whom was ridiculed and taken for crazy.
We have the history of Moses, whom eventually brought pharaoh to his knees and whom
even in the presence of greatness was always spited and ridiculed by the same people he
had rescued form slavery, even to the point of loosing the glory of seen accomplished the
promise of God to Israel.
We have the story of the Prophet Samuel whom even early in age brought a revelation of
darkness to the high priest Eli and whom even after being dead brought to King Saul the
news of his dark fate. And so we could name Prophets like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel,
Daniel, Joel, Zachariah, Amos, Nahum, Haggai, Malachi and so many other great men of
God who consistently brought His message to those in power, or to the world at large, to
nations, to peoples, and Who’s messages were consistently of warning, condemnation, in
presence of evil, or redemption for those who chose to repent and humble themselves to
the Creator.
There have always been foolish men, even today who use the word of the Lord as a tool
of convenience, bringing promises of wealth, and greatness, and success; the bearers of
Good news whom only bring damnation to themselves and to the object of their
deception. “Jesus said to his disciples: Things that cause people to sin are bound to come,
but woe to that person through whom they come”. (Luke 17:1)
God has always used the gift of prophesy to reward those who are faithful or to condemn
those who reject Him, or as an alarm in the wake of great tribulation.
Yet often the devil has used people even people of God to bring false news, false
revelations, even God Himself has on many occasions allowed the devil to do this for his
own purpose. (1 Kings 22:20-23)
This is why is so important that those who receive a message from God be sure that it
really comes from God before they flaunt it
Because God does today use His people to reveal present or future events for the sake of
the elect, or to bring conviction and repentance, but often the messages are tarnished or
obscured or confusing or even distractions.
My wife for example received twice the revelation of two bit earthquakes less than a
week before they happened in Haiti and in Chile, but the revelations were unspecific,
unclear to say the least. Because though through her vision we knew there was going to
be a devastating earthquake, and even a tsunami, we could not tell where exactly they
would happen, or the exact date.
I have personally been the receiver of dreams and visions on many occasions, many of
them quite accurate, directed to specific persons, or places, or congregations, even
nations, others obscure or confusing, and yet many others were fakes.
And although God has given me the gift of discernment, on many occasions it has been
literally impossible to tell what is false and what is real.
This morning for example, as I was readying to get up, I saw a vision of a great disaster
happening somewhere in the south, either south Africa or south America, and based on
this vision there is going to be many lost lives; the type of disaster I could not tell, but I
could tell it is unstoppable, and worse yet, it is supposed to happen today. This vision
showed me this tragedy to be happening in the southwest, either in Angola or Namibia or
South Chile.
Is this vision a revelation form God? I do not know for sure. Am I certain it is going to
take place? Absolutely not, but I saw it clearly.
And this is the problem with the prophetic; I am using this case as an example, but
usually when I get things like this I do not tell them to anyone, and many times they turn
out to be just that, a vision or a dream without meaning, yet other times they come to
pass. But when I am certain; (and believe me, there are times when we know one hundred
percent that God has given us a message) then we act boldly and bring the message
forward to whomever wherever, and whichever the message might be, because when the
Lord uses you as a messenger, you ought to be a messenger in spite of the consequences.
I do not remember having very often the privilege of bringing great prophetic news to
anyone, except for encouragement to ministries or Ministers that have been faithfully
doing a great Job for the Lord, or to whom the Lord has separated for a special purpose.
Most times the messages are warnings to bring conviction and change, and often these
messages are very effective, other times you see those who ignore them crumble in front
of your eyes, as the warnings come to pass.
My message for you today is, stay away from diviners, and fortune tellers, and witch
doctors, and magicians, they are only charlatans used by the devil for his deceptive
schemes; and when a self announced prophet comes to you with words, receive them
with caution, knowing the God is never going to promise you big mansions and great
fortune and power and glory. God might give you all of that, He is sovereign and that is
His prerogative, but one hundred percent of the times those who promise you prosperity
are no more that dead beats, pretenders who are looking for prosperity for themselves. (2
thessalonians 2:9-12)
If God has something especial for you, He will tell you himself, because when you are in
Christ, you are the apple of His eyes, and He loves you profoundly. (Zechariah 2:8)
May is Blessings abound in your lives, eternally.
