So,

When Arioch, chief of the royal
guards, was making arrangements for
the execution, Daniel wisely took him
aside and quietly asked what was
going on: "Why this all of a sudden?"

After Arioch filled in the
background, Daniel went to the king
and asked for a little time so that he
could interpret the dream.

Daniel then went home and told
his companions Hananiah, Mishael, and
Azariah what was going on. He asked
them to pray to the God of heaven for
mercy in solving this mystery so that
the four of them wouldn't be killed
along with the whole company of
Babylonian wise men.
That night
Daniel went
and prayed
to God, and God gave him the answer King Nebuchadnezzar asked Daniel
to his prayer. “Can you tell me my dream?”
Then Daniel thanked God for providing “No man can learn of your dream, o
him with the wisdom he needed, and King, but the living God in heaven has
went to tell Arioch he could answer the revealed to me what your dream is and

“O King, what you saw in your dreams
was a large statue. The head was
made of gold, the chest of silver, the
hips and belly of bronze, the legs of
iron, and the feet made of clay and
iron mixed together.
And as you watched a rock was formed
out of the mountain that came and
knocked down the statue, so it turned
to dust. Then the rock grew and ruled
the whole world.
Now, let us interpret your dream. You,
are the most powerful king on earth.
The God of heaven and earth has given
you much, you are that head of gold.
But, your rule will be replaced by
another inferior kingdom, and that will
be replaced by yet another, a bronze
kingdom, but still ruling all. After that
a fourth kingdom of iron will come, and
just as iron is strong so is it, but it will
be destroyed. Finally a kingdom of
iron and clay will come, and it will be
both strong and weak like iron and
clay.
“But the stone that came and
destroyed the statue will be a kingdom
that will rule forever. This, o king, is
the meaning of your dream.”

Then King Nebuchadnezzer fell on his

knees and worshipped the God of
Daniel, and exclaimed “Your God is
truly the Master of Mysteries. Let all
know your God has explained it to us.”

And Daniel was appointed a ruler, and

he had his friends appointed to
positions of power as well.
