IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY
BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THIS BETA UPGRADE
Your radio must be running Build 4.0.3 or higher before applying Build 6.1.8. The latest
version of TRUMP Version 109-fw-6.1.0 (Tranzeos Upgrade Program) will update your
radios automatically up to the previous build of 6.1.0. For radios with firmware older than
4.0.3, we now recommend using TRUMP to upgrade to build 6.1.0 and then manually
upgrading to 6.18. TRUMP can be used in Routed or Bridged networks.
Warning: Before applying any versions of firmware please read and understand this entire
document. If you encounter problems with the new firmware you can seek help from the
Support Team. You should only perform a firmware upgrade during support hours (8 am to 5
pm PST, Monday to Friday) in case you need emergency assistance. If you have any
questions, please call or email us before starting the upgrade process. It is advised that
network administrators document their configuration before proceeding with the update, and
manually re-enter the information after the upgrade, if required.
Important: Firmware may become unusable if inappropriately applied or the connection is broken during the
upgrade. Ensure no interruptions during the upgrade. If the connection is broken or the power goes off during an
upgrade, the unit may become inoperative!

Upgrading using TRUMP
New version of TRUMP has been released to support Tranzeo WiFi radio product binaries up to and including
version 6.1.0. TRUMP is Tranzeos Remote Upgrade Management Program, which can allow you to locate and
mass upgrade your network from a single tool.
NOTE: It is recommended that you uninstall any previous versions of TRUMP before upgrading to TRUMP
Version 1.0.9-fw-6.1.0.
Added released version 6.1.0 binaries for TR-CPQ, TR-SL2, TR-SL5, TR-SL9, TR-6, TR-5a, TR-FDD,
TR-4.9, TR-Multi, and TR-90X for Hardware 2, and 3.
KNOWN ISSUES
TR6000/TR5a and TR-49 models running firmware prior to 4.0.3 will need to upgrade to 4.0.3 first, and
then to 6.1.0.
Need to uninstall previously installed versions of Trump prior to installing this release.
Need to manually delete C:\Program Files\Tranzeo\Trump folder after uninstall to ensure new changes are
used.
Installing on a system with ActivePERL can lead to TrLocator /TRUMP scan failures, especially when
using remote desktop to access the machine running TRUMP.
Workaround: Uninstall ActivePERL.
You can download the latest version of TRUMP from the Tranzeo Support Website.
Victor 2.5
The Tranzeo Victor Program is a utility that allows users to locate and quickly change the IP address of Tranzeo
radios. It sends out a broadcast on the network and displays a list of all Tranzeo radios and their corresponding IP
addresses. Victor 2.5 is the latest release.
You can download the latest version of Victor from the Tranzeo Support Website.

Previous Firmware Release Notes
CHANGES IN 6.1.7
RF Performance
Changed India 2.4GHz band settings to use updated rules for EIRP limits.
Updated 5 GHz operation in ETSI operation to support EN 302 502 V1.2.1 (2008-07)
UI
Disabled option "Do not jump outside of current band" for DFS in CPE mode as this is an AP only function
Added the ability to see AP statistics on CPEs Web Interface. The AP must be a Tranzeo TR or SL series AP.
The Wireless Performance page will refresh the peer's signal and noise every 10 seconds.
Now allows the SNMP port to be user configurable
Add bridge table for AP mode
Operational Features
Adds a new roaming threshold feature. This feature is primarily intended for units in mobile applicants.
o Allows the user to set roaming threshold via web interface or config file import
o If APs RSSI drops below the threshold for 2 or more cycles, the CPE disassociates the link and
searches an available AP above threshold (NOTE: available AP must match the CPE's primary or
secondary SSID and security info (WPA/WEP))
If during this scan a more powerful AP is found, the CPE will attempt to link to it
If the scan fails to find a more powerful CPE, it will start a scan for all available
channels and if any AP's match the SSID but below the threshold, it will connect for
10 seconds, then repeats the scan.

New- Added these new block options to import/export configuration file system:
o Disable reverse DHCP block option for bridge mode and FDD in the file
Fix - Enable the 5.8GHz LED in AP mode for channels 146, 147, 148
Tweak - Added writing of the card type to exported configuration file for the benefit of the Tranzeo Tech Support
team
Tweak - Speed up 5.8 association time. Previously, when the CPE is initially hunting for an AP, it could in some
circumstance exceed the minimum required time period for Radar scanning on the part of a station when not
associated. As there are a significant number of DFS channels to scan through, this could result in a cumulative delay
in association that in some cases would become noticeable. The CPE will still react to radar after the link is
operational on a DFS enabled channel.
Enhancement Added new packet filter rules. The rules are applied in the following order if enabled.
1. Block DHCP (existing)
1.1 deny incoming UDP/TCP packets which of destination port is 67 on WAN interface
1.2 deny incoming UDP/TCP packets which of destination port is 68 on WAN interface
2. Block IGMP (new)
2.1 deny outgoing IP packets which of protocol is 2 on WAN interface
3. Block Locator Probes (new)
3.1 allow outgoing packets which of source MAC address is itself on WAN interface (allow the device itself
probed)
3.2 deny outgoing UDP/TCP packets which of destination port is 17784 on WAN interface
4. Block multicast (new)
4.1 allow outgoing broadcast packets on WAN interface
4.2 deny outgoing multicast packets on WAN interface
Enhancement - Added Brazil domain to DHS with channel compliant to Ansatel rules.
Enhancement - Added 5500-5700MHz band for Licensed use in Peru
Enhancement - Added AP and PxP functionality for SL2 series with HWr3 only
Enhancement Now, in addition to the Redundant File systems for Device Firmware and Device settings, we have
added Redundant EEPROM backup and recovery to protect against an unlikely but theoretically possible case where
the EEPROM contents could be lost on 2B type cards.
Enhancement - Added 5.8GHz band to Malaysia and increase band to 5925MHz
New Added support for new card types (4J, 4K, 6D, 6E, 6F)
New Added support for H5 (OEM)
Bug Fixes:
Fixed leftover '>' character when a station is dropped from the AP station list
Fixed issue with antenna gain being cleared in rare cases on units with built in antennas, resulting in a cosmetic issue.
CHANGES IN 5.0.7
UI:
Changed Frames over 1518 and less than 2048 bytes to Frames over 1544 and less than 2048 bytes on

[1158] Changed label Enable VLAN to Enable MGMT VLAN on network advanced page
Bug Fixes:
Optimized code to fix memory leak in TCP module, which caused a hard lock-up when accessing web port with
DDOS type requests (attempting thousands of simultaneous logins). This behavior was triggered by bugs in
some monitoring software. While the issue was extremely rare, it is recommended that all user upgrade to
eliminate any chance of this issue.
Optimized code to fix a small memory leak in Web Server module, which caused system crash and hard lock-up
when accessing web port with DDOS type requests. This issue was found when investigating the above issue.
There were no field reports of this issue.
Fixed WPA group key update issue which caused CPE's decryption failure for broadcast packets.
Removed debug output on dongle console (not visible to customer).
[1424] Power LED does not turn back on until power cycle when re-enabling signal LEDs.
MIBS:
The following private Tranzeo MIBs were added:
.iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.tranzeo.stationStat.stnNumber
(number of associated stations)

o
Upgrade will not automatically change SSID containing trailing spaces, but any configuration
applied at firmware 5.0+ will remove trailing SSID.
o Removes trailing spaces when importing configuration settings
Added IP address hyperlink on AP's Stations List page to open CPEs HTTP Interface in new tab
Updated System Performance page to prevent memory leak in IE7 and Firefox 3.5 browser. Leak occurred
on client PC, not in radio.
Wireless Performance page now refreshes the RSSI value
Added pop up message box informing user of "Re-associate on new IP" feature may not be compatible with
non-Tranzeo AP's when in DHCP client mode
Added Numbers to the WEP Key boxes
Now display system uptime on Information page.
o PxP mode has additional link uptime.
Note: FDD may be off up to 6 seconds due to polling
HTTP Interface now prevents 0.0.0.0 from being set as the default route. This prevented the DHCP
gateway option from being set in DHCP client mode in firmware 4.0.3
Changed Network mode drop down box to be compatible with Chrome browser
Fixed ARP Table page to clear IP address column when last page isn't completely filled
Combined Configuration page for bridge/router mode
Added feature to block DHCP servers behind bridged CPEs from serving other clients on the AP
Added configuration settings to autoconfig function:
o net.reverse_dhcp_block (new)
o net.shaping_rate (new)
o net.shaping_policy (new)
o net.router.qos.uplink_speed (value range changed)
o net.shaping_policy (new)
Implemented a TCP throughput test, requires throughput.exe, a Windows Command line tool.
o TCP server mode enabled all the time and supports wireless or wired upstream and downstream.
Usage:
TCP input test (sending data IN to device)
throughput.exe -i -r [seconds] [ip_of_radio]
TCP output test {receiving data OUT of device)
throughput.exe -o -r [seconds] [ip_of_radio]
Added a basic traffic shaping feature to shape traffic transmitted from the device:
o Enabled by default with unlimited default value
Works in Bridge mode, but doesn't have the QoS classification feature
o Router mode still has the QoS classification feature
o Shaping applies to aggregate throughput, so for an AP, a setting of 10000 kbps would be shared
amongst all CPEs, not per CPE
o Added ability to set numerical traffic limit instead of fixed rates
o QoS enabled AP will not have Shaping enabled on upgrade, but QoS enabled CPE in router mode
will be converted to numerical traffic limit and remain enabled
Firmware now returns the firmware version in Victor response
Added IP address hyperlink on AP's Stations List page to open CPE in new tab
Enabled 1/4 and 1/2 channel support for card type 6C
Radio now checks before process files in case users accidently tries to import a firmware image instead of
settings file
Display system uptime on Information page.
o PxP mode displays additional value of Link Uptime.
Note: FDD may be off up to 6 seconds due to polling

Management Access in Each VLAN Option
VLAN Option = VLAN on Ethernet
In this use case, the Radio will only respond to matching tagged traffic
when accessed via the Ethernet Interface.
When accessed via the Wireless interface, the radio will only respond to
untagged traffic.
Traffic through the radio is unaffected, on traffic sent to the services
(SNMP, TFTP, Victor, HTTP, DHCP, Etc) at the IP of the radio is considered
by this function.

Special Options: Allow Web Access on Ethernet without VLAN and Allow Victor to Access Radio on Ethernet Without VLAN.
Some customers may wish to allow access to the Web Server or by Victor regardless of VLAN status. Selecting these options will allow untagged traffic access to those
interfaces regardless of VLAN status.
This feature is used most often to allow installers to access the radio without needing to set a VLAN in their laptop.
