4th Sunday of Lent

The path of Christian life is one of repentance and

reconciliation. The parable of this weekend is a very
well-known tale of a son who found himself in the
misery of sin after having spent his fathers fortune. I
dont think there is anyone who would not identify
with the words of the son after having repented: I
shall get up and go to my father and I shall say to him
Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.
I no longer deserve to be called your son.
I see a small problem with these lines. The son,
after having ruined his life, realizes that he has made a
great mistake. He prepares the perfect speech to
appeal to his father for forgiveness, and he goes in
search of his father with the expectation to be
forgiven. There is a certain level of audacity and
cynicism to this attitude, that in a way, takes
advantage of the goodness of the father.

old to the annual Easter Youth
Retreat. The retreat will be held in

A Window into St. Joseph School

Una Ventana a la Escuela de San Jos
Time, Talent and Treasure
Throughout the school year, the students of
St. Joseph School share their time, talent, and treasure
within our building and with the community. The
school offers opportunities for the students to learn the
importance of investing time in the school, parish, and
the Round Lake community. The Student Council and
National Junior Honor Society plan service projects to
help others in need. As the students hear stories about
people who are less fortunate, they gather together to
figure out ways to make the world a better place.
Currently, the various student groups are taking
turns to serve at the Fish Fry. They learn about food
service and how to prepare and clean up for an event.
Interacting with the customers is the highlight of the
students experience.
Come and join us on Friday night between 5 and
8 p.m. We provide service with a smile!

Tiempo, Talento y Tesoro

A lo largo del ano escolar, los estudiantes de la
Escuela San Jos comparten su tiempo, talento, y
tesoro dentro de nuestro edificio y con la comunidad.
La escuela ofrece oportunidades para que los
estudiantes aprendan la importancia de invertir tiempo
en la escuela, parroquia, y la Comunidad de Round
Lake. El Consejo de Estudiantes y la Sociedad de
Honor Juvenil hacen proyectos de servicios para
ayudar a los necesitados. Ya que los estudiantes
escuchan historias sobre personas que son menos
afortunados, se renen para averiguar la manera de
hacer el mundo un lugar mejor.
Actualmente, los diferentes grupos de estudiantes
se turnan para servir en la Fritura de Pescado.
Aprenden sobre el servicio de alimentos y como
preparar y limpiar para el evento. La interaccin con
los clientes es el punto culminante de la experiencia de
los estudiantes.
