HOW TO PLAY THE BASIC CHORDS OF THE GUITAR

There are seven basic chords in the guitar and playing them is not that easy to
do. It requires a lot of practice and patience. It may be look easy as I play it but Im
telling you, you will really need a lot of time for them to master.
The materials you need in playing the guitar is of course the guitar, visual aids
and if youre not comfortable using your fingers in strumming, you can use a guitar pick.
And by the way, a guitar pick is a plectrum used for guitars. Picks are generally made of
one uniform material such as some kind of plastic.
So now lets start. Proper warm-ups before playing the guitar are important so
that your hands and fingers will all be ready to play. Do a few stretching exercises with
your hands and fingers. Then let all your fingers pres the strings in different directions.
And now lets do the proper pressing of strings on playing a guitar chord. Press the
stings of the guitar very tight because if you press it softly, it will not produce any sound.
It may be pain at first but as your practice, you will be used to it. Every guitar has
different position for the fingers. Of course for them to have different sounds. There are
7 chords in playing the guitar: C, D, E, F, G, A, B. Ill just teach the C, D, E, G, and A
because they are the most basic chords among the seven. To do the C press the 2 nd
string on the first fret, 4th string on the second fret and 5th string on the third fret. For G,
press the 1st and 2nd string on the third fret, 5th string on the second fret and 6th string on
the third fret. For A press the 1st, 2nd and 3rd string in the second fret. Now the strumming
is just a combination of up and down. It just really depend on how you will match it on
the beat of the song you are playing. You can use the down down up up down down or
down up down down down up down and many more. Just make sure that when you are
strumming, you are hitting all the strings with your pick or fingers.
Playing the guitar is a fun thing to do but it may need a lot of practice. Practice
hard for you to master them because as they say, hard work beats talent. If you really
like what you are doing, you will be having the perseverance to practice hard. Thats
what I did; I practice hard because I really love music. Always remember this quotation
B.B. King said, The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
