PAID INTERNSHIPS
Target – Executive Intern
The objective of the Executive Internship is to give you an overview of Target Stores’ Operations and
company programs while strengthening your leadership skills, enabling you to be an effective
executive and strategic business partner for the stores pyramid. As a Stores Executive Intern, you will
receive support of all areas within a store as you develop your leadership skills in our three part
program: Target Fundamentals, Basic Leadership, and Hands-on Special Project. Skills we’re looking

Port of Long Beach – Transportation Planning Intern
The Transportation Planning Intern is an Unclassified (Non-Civil Service) position usually used to
employ college students in engineering, environmental and maritime/trade programs. The
Transportation Planning Intern performs duties appropriate to the area of study; work is usually
performed under the guidance of experienced personnel and may include engineering or planning
work, research and analytical projects, statistical compilation, communications and community
outreach, promotional activities, and general administrative assignments. Intern will assist in the
review and preparation of traffic and land use studies for Port facilities. Assist with reviewing and
updating Planning documents and programs. Analyze regulatory and legislative issues. Utilize
Synchro, TransCAD, and GIS. Enrollment in an accredited college or university with at least senior
standing. A major in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Transportation Planning/Engineering or
Urban and Regional Planning or related field is preferred. Familiarity with traffic engineering and
transportation engineering/planning principles and methodologies (including computer software
applications) is desired. The applicant should possess a valid California driver's license. Interns work
a minimum of 20 hours per week up to a maximum of 1,600 hours in a 12-month period. For more

Los Angeles County Arts Commission – Summer Internship Program ($3500 stipend)
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors established the Arts Internship Program (which
provides internships for nonprofit performing, presenting, literary, and municipal arts organizations)
as a companion program to the Getty Multicultural Internship Program (which provides internships to
museums and visual arts organizations). The purpose of the County's program is to provide
undergraduate students with meaningful on-the-job training and experience in working in nonprofit
arts organizations, while assisting arts organizations to develop future arts leaders. This program is a
10 week paid summer internship (40 hours/week) for 125 full-time undergraduate college students.
Students are paid $350/week to work with a nonprofit arts organization within Los Angeles County.
Nonprofits include various performing, presenting, and literary arts organizations, and local agencies.
Interns also participate in several educational events. Undergraduates and graduating seniors may
apply. Students must have completed at least one semester of college by June 2010, and be currently
enrolled (full-time) in a community college or a four year university. Graduating seniors are eligible
only if they are to complete their undergraduate degree by September 1st, 2010. Students must
either reside in Los Angeles County or attend school in Los Angeles County. Candidates are
welcome from all areas of undergraduate study and are not required to have demonstrated a previous

UNPAID INTERNSHIPS
NBC Universal – Music Publishing Internship (2 Openings)
There will be two (2) internships available for the Summer 2010 semester in the Music Publishing
area of the Film Music department. This department is responsible for monetizing and managing the
studio’s film assets as it specifically relates to music, film score, theme songs, etc. by way of
licensing to third parties. These internships are designed for students who are interested in learning
more about music publishing, or students who are undecided about what sector of the business they'd
like to enter into. Responsibilities include following up on outstanding license
requests/licenses/payments. Updating/maintaining database of department licensing activity.
Updating our Access database which tracks all of our licenses. Updating/maintaining database of
music rights. Other research on an as-needed basis. Intern will also assist other areas of the
department as needed. Must be available 10-20 hours per week. Must be computer-savvy. Quick
learner. Detail-oriented. Must be familiar with basic music business procedures. Understanding of
basic music publishing concepts preferred. Enrolled in a Associate/Bachelors/Masters program at an
accredited college or university. Candidate must be 18 years or older and current sophomore standing
or above. Must be eligible to receive academic credit from their college or university prior to starting

Music for Relief – Marketing Intern
Music for Relief is a grassroots effort founded by Linkin Park comprised of musicians, music
industry professionals, and fans who believe that together we can create positive change. Music for
Relief is a 501-c 3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing aid to survivors of natural disasters
and reducing global warming. We are currently seeking Marketing Interns. Our Marketing Interns
will oversee and develop specific projects for MFR outreach, marketing, branding, and fundraising.
We want creative, independent interns who can think outside of the box. As an MFR intern, you will
gain a valuable experience in project planning, website management, social media management,
concept development and implementation, and environmental outreach and fundraising. Our office is
located in Beverly Hills and offers a fun and creative work environment! This is a non-paid
internship, but is available for college credit. Start/End Dates are flexible, hours are flexible. To
