We pray for those whom you call to serve the Church of Joliet as priests.
Inspire in them a generous response. Grant them courage and vision to serve your people.
May their lives and service call your people to respond to the presence of your Spirit among us
that, faithful to the Gospel and hope of Jesus the Christ, we may:
announce glad tidings to the poor proclaim liberty to captives,
set prisoners free and renew the face of the earth.
O God, Father of all Mercies, Provider of a bountiful Harvest, send Your Graces upon those You have
called to gather the fruits of Your labor; preserve and strengthen them in their lifelong service of you.
Open the hearts of Your children that they may discern Your Holy Will; inspire in them a love and desire
to surrender themselves to serving others in the name of Your son, Jesus Christ.
Teach all Your faithful to follow their respective paths in life guided by Your Divine Word and Truth.
Through the intercession of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, all the Angels, and Saints, humbly hear our
prayers and grant Your Church's needs, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Joining together with all the Parishes of the Joliet diocese, we pray daily for our Holy Father. Take some time before
a meal , on the way to work, to pray for the special intentions of our Holy Father. Thank you for your participation in
this prayer effort, in union with our Holy Father. Have a blest Easter season +
~ Fr. Peter
God our Father, shepherd and guide, source of eternal life and truth, give to your newly elected shepherd,
Benedict XVI, a spirit of courage and right judgment, a spirit of knowledge and love.
By governing with fidelity those entrusted to his care may he, as successor to the apostle Peter,
the Vicar of Christ, build your Church into a sacrament of unity, love, and peace for all the world.
May he be the visible centre and foundation of our unity in faith and love. May his word and example
inspire and guide the Church, and may all those entrusted to his care, come to the joy of everlasting life.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
