Is New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie secretly mixing

politics with his Florida vacation this week?
Christies office in Trenton wont say whether the
governor met up in the Sunshine State with Donald
Trump, the Christie-endorsed front-runner for the
Republican presidential nomination.
Its also unclear whether the administrations policy of notifying legislative leaders about Christies
travels outside New Jersey is still in place. The protocol triggers a transfer of power to Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno, who becomes acting governor in Christies absence.
The trip comes at a time when NJ Transit rail workers are threatening to go on strike this weekend.
Critics say Christie should have postponed the vacation and stayed home to keep a close watch on the negotiations and intervene if necessary.

second Asbury Park Music in Film Festival, set for
April 8 through 10 in Asbury Park.
More than 20 events and films have just been announced. The festival spotlights films that feature a
major musical component.
Theres content at this fest you just cant get anywhere else, event producer Jamie Wark said. Festival co-chair Tom Bernard (of Sony Pictures Classics)

RARITAN BOROUGH - In what is believed to be

the largest settlement of an Open Public Records Act
case in New Jersey, the borough has agreed to pay
$650,000 to Gannett New Jersey to settle a lawsuit
filed after borough officials denied a reporters OPRA
request for electronically maintained municipal salary information.
We are pleased and gratified that the Borough of
Raritan has decided to resolve this case, said Thomas
Cafferty, attorney for Gannett New Jersey, the owner
of the Courier News, MyCentralJersey.com and five
other New Jersey newspapers, including the Asbury
Park Press. Our client took no pleasure in pursuing
this matter and did so at great hardship and expense,
but it did so because of the importance of access to
government records in a meaningful fashion.
With no discussion or comment, the Borough Council voted unanimously Tuesday evening to settle the
litigation, which began when Gannett New Jersey
