SOFT-STARTER SSW-07
SSW07 parameter programming via DIP-Switch
Dear Sirs,
It has been incorporated to the SSW07 a programming mode via DIP-Switch, i.e. without using the
keypad. The purpose of this programming mode is to allow to the SSW07 user to make some
modifications in the standard product, like choosing 2 or 3 -wire command, using a contactor/circuit
breaker with minimum voltage coil in the SSW07 input, and loading the fac tory parameters.

1 - ENTERING THE PROGRAMMING MODE

To enter in the programming mode, please follow the instructions below:
Step 1 Hold the RESET button; after 5 seconds the OVERCURRENT LED will turn ON.

NOTE: The RESET button must be held during the whole operation.
To leave the programming mode, the RESET button just has to be released.

1.1 - CHANGING A PARAMETER VIA DIP -SWITCH

When the SSW07 is in programming mode, the DIP -Switch selector looses its original function.
To change a parameter via DIP -Switch it must be changed the DIP-Switch position as desired and
returned to the previous position (this change is updated only when the DIP -Switch returns to its
previous position). Thus the original SSW07 configuration will not be changed during the
parameter programming via DIP-Switch, because when the Soft -Starter leaves the programming
mode the DIP-Switch will back to its original function.

2 - DIGITAL INPUT DI2 PROGRAMMING

2.1 - TWO-WIRE COMMAND P264 = 6 (Factory default: DI2 = Reset)
To make the 2-wire command, parameter P264 = 6 must be adjusted, what gives to the digital
input DI2 the RESET functio n. To enable parameter P264, please follow the instructions below:
Step 1 Enter in programming mode (see 1)
Step 2 Change the 2 nd DIP-Switch (KICK-START)
Step 3 Check if two LEDs (OVERCURRENT and PHASE LOSS) have turned ON

2.2 - THREE-WIRE COMMAND P264 = 1 (DI2 = Stop)

To make the 3-wire command, parameter P264 = 1 must be adjusted, what gives to the digital
input DI2 the STOP function. To enable parameter P264, please follow the instructions below:
Step 1 - Enter in programming mode (see 1)
Step 2 - Change the 3 rd DIP-Switch (OVERCURRENT)
Step 3 - Check if three LEDs (OVERCURRENT, PHASE LOSS, PHASE SEQ) have turned ON

3 - RELAY OUTPUT RL1 PROGRAMMING (13/14)

3.1

INPUT CONTACTOR P277 = 1 (RL1 = Running)

To use an input contactor, parameter P277 = 1 must be adjusted, allowing to the relay output RL1
the Running function. To enable parameter P277, please follow the instructions below:
Step 1 Enter in programming mode (see 1)
Step 2 Check the OVERLOAD LED
OFF: Running (P277 = 1) End of programming
ON: No Fault (P277 = 6) Continue through steps 3 and 4
Step 3 Change the OVERLOAD DIP-Switch
Step 4 Check if the OVERLOAD LED is OFF

3.2

CIRCUIT BREAKER WITH UNDERVOLTAGE COIL P277 = 6 (RL1 = No Fault)

To use an input circuit breaker with minimum voltage coil, parameter P277 = 6 must be adjusted,
allowing to the relay output RL1 the No Fault function . To enable parameter P277, please follo w
the instructions below:
Step 1 Enter in programming mode (see 1)
Step 2 Check the OVERLOAD LED
OFF: Running (P277 = 1) Continue through steps 3 and
ON: No Fault (P277 = 6) End of p rogramming
Step 3 Change the OVERLOAD DIP-Switch
Step 4 Check if the OVERLOAD LED is ON

4 - LOAD FACTORY DEFAULT P204 = 5

To load fa ctory the standard parameters, please follow the instructions below::
Step 1 Enter in programming mode (see 1)
Step 2 Change the UP DIP-Switch of THERMAL CLASS

NOTE: all LEDs will turn ON, as in initialization.

If you need any further information, please feel free to contact us (fabiogg@weg.net).
