PROBABLE CAUSE:

On 02/22/2016 at approximately 1128 hours, Damecia Stephens called 911 after finding Tomorreio Clark
deceased, in their residence. Polk County Deputies and E.M.S. responded to 3746 Imperial Drive, Winter Haven
to an unresponsive male. E.M.S. arrived on scene, determined Clark to be deceased, and relinquished the scene
to law enforcement to initiate an investigation.
The decedent resides with his girlfriend of 15 years, Star Tribble. Star and the decedent have two children
together, a seven year old male and a ten year old male. Star's daughter, Damecia Stephens, also resides at the
residence.
Detectives responded to the scene. The decedent was observed lying face down on a mattress on the floor. The
decedent was decomposing. A spent casing was located on the bed next to the decedent. The decedent's body
was checked. A gunshot wound was located at the top of the decedent's head and at the bottom of his chin.
There were no other signs of injury or trauma to the decedent's body. A projectile was found under the
decedent's body. A firearm was not located.
A search warrant was obtained for the residence. The residence was searched and a firearm was not located.
There were no signs of forced entry to the residence. There were no signs of a struggle in the residence.
On 02/22/2016 at approximately 1630 hours, Detectives interviewed Star Tribble at the Sheriff's Operations
Center. Star stated on Thursday, 02/18/2016, she left the residence at approximately 0615 hours. She had to be
at work at 0645 hours. When she left the residence, the decedent, Damecia, and the boys were at the residence.
Damecia takes the boys to the bus stop and then catches the city bus to go to Polk State College in Lakeland.
Star got home from work between 1530 and 1600 hours. Damecia goes to work after college and does not get off
work until midnight. When Star arrived home from work, the decedent had laid out chicken wings to grill. Star
stated the afternoon and evening were uneventful and the decedent was in a "laid back" mood.
Star told Detectives the decedent suggested she take the boys with her to pick up Damecia from work and they
all "stay gone" for a few days. They discussed her and the kids returning home Monday after work and school.
Star and the boys left the residence at approximately 2300 hours on Thursday evening to pick Damecia up from
work and did not return.
Star, Damecia, and the boys stayed in a Winter Haven hotel Thursday and Friday night. On Saturday they went
to Cocoa to pick up Star's friend. They all travelled to Ocala where they stayed with a family member until
Sunday. On Sunday, they drove back to Cocoa to drop Star's friend off. Star, Damecia, and the boys then drove
back to Lakeland where they stayed Sunday night with Star's brother, Kenneth Stacey. Monday morning Star
got up and went to work. Her brother and his wife were supposed to take the boys to school but they were
having car trouble.
Star received a phone call at work from Damecia. Damecia told Star there was an emergency at their home.
Star told Detectives she did not speak to the decedent or return to the house after she left Thursday night. The
first time she returned to the house was on Monday after receiving the phone call from Damecia.
On 02/23/2016 Dr. Nelson, the 10th district medical examiner, performed an autopsy of the decedent. Dr. Nelson
stated the cause of death is gunshot wound of the head the manner of death is homicide.

Detectives interviewed Kenneth Stacey. Kenneth stated Star and the kids arrived at his house late Sunday
evening, 02/21/2016, around midnight. Kenneth did not know Star was coming over. Star asked Kenneth to go
for a ride with her. Star and the kids got some bags out of the trunk of the car. Kenneth asked Star why she was
getting the stuff out of the trunk. Star told Kenneth she needed to move something. The kids stayed at
Kenneth's house. Star drove Kenneth to her residence located at 3746 Imperial Drive, Winter Haven. Star
opened the garage door, backed the car in, and then closed the garage door. They entered the residence through
the garage. Star pointed to the master bedroom and said he's in that room. Kenneth looked in the master
bedroom. Kenneth observed the decedent on the mattress under a blanket. Star told Kenneth he was dead.
Kenneth asked Star why she didn't call an ambulance or the police. Star replied, they would ask too many
questions. Kenneth asked Star what happened to the decedent. Star told Kenneth she shot him. Star then asked
Kenneth to help her move his body. Kenneth told her no. They left and returned to Kenneth's residence.
Kenneth did not see Star take anything from her residence.
Detectives interviewed Star Tribble at the Sheriff's Operations Center. Star again maintained she did not return
to the residence after she left Thursday night until Monday after being called by Damecia. Star admitted to
Detectives she did not go to Ocala on Saturday, rather went to Walton Correctional Institute in Defuniak
Springs, Florida to visit her inmate boyfriend. When confronted with the knowledge she returned to the
residence Sunday evening with Kenneth, Star told Detectives she needed to go to the residence to get scrubs for
work. She asked Kenneth to ride with her. Star admitted she knew the decedent was dead when she arrived at
the residence Sunday night. She maintained she did not kill him. Star did not deny knowing who killed the
decedent or what happened to him. Star denied killing the decedent however told Detectives the decedent was
shot in the head. This information had not been divulged to Star. Star acknowledged asking Kenneth to help
her get rid of the decedent's body.
Detectives interviewed Damecia Stephens at the Sheriff's Operations Center. Damecia told Detectives she, her
mother, and the boys returned to the residence early Friday morning after her mother, Star, picked her up from
work. When they arrived home her dad, Tomorreio Clark, was awake and in the living room. There was no one
else at the residence. The boys went to bed and Damecia ate dinner. After eating, Damecia went to get her
clothes for bed and take a shower. She thought her mom and dad went into their bedroom because she heard
their voices fading toward the direction of their bedroom. While in the shower, Damecia heard a loud "boom".
Several minutes later, Star came to the bathroom and told Damecia they needed to go. Damecia asked her
mother what the noise was. Star told her something fell in the closet. Damecia got dressed, woke her brothers
up, and they got clothes together to leave for the weekend. Damecia was going to tell her dad bye but the
bedroom door was shut. Star told her he was in the shower.
Damecia also confirmed they did not go to Ocala on Saturday, 02/20/2016. They went to Defuniak Springs,
Florida to the Walton Correctional Institute so her mother, Star, could visit a friend. Damecia stated her mother
has been visiting the inmate for at least a year but she did not know their relationship.
Damecia stated on the way to Defuniak Springs they stopped at a gas station. Star got into the driver side back
seat. Star reached under the driver seat and removed a bag. Star handed the bag to Damecia and told her to
throw it away. Damecia described the bag as a plastic shopping bag. The bag contained an object that was
wrapped in other shopping bags. Damecia said the object had weight to it and felt like metal.
Damecia, the boys, and Star stayed the night at her Uncle Kenny's on Sunday night. Monday morning she asked
her mom for the house key to get a book for school. When Star handed her the key, Star told her "he's gone".
Damecia told Detectives her mother, Star, told her not to tell anyone they returned to the residence after picking
her up from work Thursday night.
Surveillance video from the decedent's neighborhood was viewed. The surveillance footage was consistent with
the dates and approximate times provided by Damecia Stephens and Kenneth Stacy as to when they came to the
residence.
Based on the above listed statements provided by the suspect and witnesses along with video surveillance and

evidence collected, I have probable cause to believe Star Tribble committed 1st Degree Murder, Tampering with
a Witness, and Tampering with Evidence.
