TECHNICAL ACHIEVEMENTS

Over The Air 2008 (Location Based Gaming Platform):

I competed in the Over The Air hackathon with Simon Maddox to develop a location based
games platform in under 18 hours. The platform was demoed showing a capture the flag style
game around South Kensington. The demo used a J2ME application to transmit the phones
current cell-id to a web-service which recorded the location and sent a map of the next location
back to the device as a graphic file.

The application won the “Best Location Based Application” award and was voted “Audience
Favorite”.

Vale Karate:

Vale Karate is one of the UK’s top karate schools, as a voluntary project I have developed the
organisations ICT strategy and importantly I have developed the organisations web based
management tool which tracks information about students, payments, and events The system is
built on top of the Codeigniter framework, and is still under heavy development.

theNPCs:

theNPCs was developed to be character driven gaming site, I built the sites backend off a
custom PHP framework. The majority of the development time was spent making it easy for
non technical staff to control the site. I also integrated with Amazon Web Services to allow
automated updates of game information to reduce the time spent laboring over basic data
entry.
