ASSESSMENT ANALYSIS PAPER
What is an evaluation? Guba (2000) avowed Evaluation means the provision of
information through formal means, such as criteria, measurement, and statistics, to serve as rational bases for making judgements in decisions situations. The methodology of evaluation includes four functions: collection, organization, analysis, and reporting of information (p. 21). In addition, Guba (2000) mentioned criteria for assessing the adequacy of evaluations include validity, reliability, timeliness, pervasiveness, and credibility. Since the purpose of evaluation is to provide information for decision-making, one must have some knowledge of the decision situation to be served. Last but not least, Guba (2000) mentioned to assist in developing a parsimonious classification system for educational decision situations, it is useful initially to focus exclusively on the functions of decisions. The functions of decision situations in education may be classified as planning, programming, implementing and recycling. An assessment analysis will be conducted amid this document. The assessment analysis is based off of the School Accountability Report Card for Lincoln High School, which is located in Leon County (Tallahassee, Florida). The assessment analysis will incorporate program evaluation concepts. The assessment analysis shall take account of pertinent segments of the actual data that will be evaluated. In addition, the following assessment analysis shall be organized, thus conferring a review of the evaluation data, program goals or benchmarks achieved and/or not achieved (as indicated by the data analysis), attempts to improve program performance, suggested recommendations for improving performance based upon the evaluation data analysis, and strategies for communicating the results of the data analysis to the various stakeholders. The School Accountability Report Card (of Lincoln High School) was obtained by way of the Florida School Grades web page. Attempt to Improve Program Performance From observing the 2014 2015 Preliminary Informational Baseline School Grade(s) for Lincoln High School, there is no need to improve program performance amid Lincoln High School. Based on the information that is available (amid the evaluation data), Lincoln High School is in one of the highest ranked schools within its district. In addition, Lincoln High School has an A for a Preliminary Baseline School Grade. This is most likely due to the fact that over 60% of the faculty has six years of teaching experience or more, with 50% of the faculty having obtained a masters degree or higher in their field. In addition, 10 teachers are National Board Certified (School Profile, n.d.). Stratagem(s) for Communicating Data/Results to Stakeholders The strategy for communicating the results of the data analysis to the various appropriate stakeholders is by means of an oral/visual report. A PowerPoint presentation, which is the most common type of public presentation, allows persons to generate transparencies. As a result, the oral presentation will be enhanced. Bessant (2007) stated Computer-generated presentations are becoming more and more popular. They are used by businesses executives. Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation graphics program that enables you to create, organize and design effective, professional-looking presentations (p. 1). In addition, Bessant (2007) avowed these can be used as handouts, overhead transparencies, 35 mm slides, presentation on a computer or projected using a multimedia projector connected to a computer.
