Abstract

this is base on
Prakriti is a vehicle to restore the balance in the emotional elements
of daily life, this conceptual vehicle is representing relaxation with
mutual interaction within the passengers. The vehicle's exterior
aesthetic is juxtaposed with a welcoming interior. Conch shell , peacock
and lotus are visible influences on this contrasting theme for styling.
Its soothing interior space can be occupied by four people in a
comfortable relaxing arrangement, its a symbol of femininity and nature.

1. Introduction

this is base on
We are moving towards the age of Technology and intelligence,
which are reaching sky high, inturn every thing around us are transforming
according to the needs and requirement, and all this things are making
our life better.

Each and every profession have its own contribution towards this
drastic developement. Now if we look at the life of the software professional ,
we could find that they dedicate almost half of their life towards their work.
They all work in a very tight schedule and lack space for their family,so in
every weekend they try to spend some time with their family by going for
some small outings to share happyness and to feel relaxed.

They use their private vehicle or a public transport for this purpouse,
but both does not allow them to feel relaxed and interact comfortably
while having a ride.

Prakriti is a project for a new segment of a private vehicle that helps

to restore the balance in the emotional elements of daily life, this
conceptual vehicle brings fun with relaxation and mutual
interaction during the ride.

All in all its a vehicle that retains the smile on the face of a busy
working family.

prakriti 1
2. Background

this is base on Alien perspective of the life of software professional

Lets have a look at the daily life of a software professional of India

from an alien point of view. Here is a creature which wakes up in the
morning takes bath , worships in front of a religious statue , eats and
gets in to a box with wheels , after getting down from that , again he
enters in to a very large geometrical shape where he finds other
creatures like him working in front of a box , so called computer.
working till evening then takes the same box with wheels and returns
back to the starting point of the loop.this continues through out , five
days a week. Spending half of his like working and working.

Artificial parents

Today most of the software professionals who are working are

becoming emotionally detached from their families, because of their
working schedule leading them becoming Artificial Parents of their
children. This can also be seen from another point of view, children
while growing mostly need mom or dad to share their emotions.
It was seen in past but not visible now a days due to the work culture.

prakriti 2
2. Background

this is base on Avatars of Vehicles

If we look around us , we can find a different vehicle for different

purpose just like a casting of a movie,a different actor for different
role. If we deeply observe a vehicle we can find that , it is
constantly modifying according to its purpose of application. All in
all vehiclea are having different Avatars.

How the nature looked like?

As the world is moving towards the age of knowledge and

technology, our surroundings had starting to become artificial.
We started to loose trees and refreshing rains due to pollution ,
global warming and rapid urbanization and the day is not far when
our next generation will ask us , how the nature looked like?

prakriti 3
2. Background

2.1. Context

this is base on * There has been a healthy growth in the number of India's IT
professionals over the1985-86, the number increased to 522,000
software and services professionals by the end of 2001-02.
It is estimated that out of these 522,000 knowledge workers,
almost 170,000 are working in the IT software and services export
industry; nearly 106,000 are working in the IT enabled services and
over 220,000 in user organizations.[26]

* The average working schedule of an IT professional in India for

major software companies were reported as follows: [27]

- TCS 9 hours a day.

- Wipro 9.5 hours.
- Accenture India (MNC) may soon increase to 9+ hours.
- Infosys Technologies 9.15 hours
- Satyam 9+ hours.

* The personal life of these IT professionals are already pretty harsh

and stressful, will likely worsen even further. A very high percentage
of software engineers report almost no time for social life outside
office. [27] [28]

* One of the most blissful ways to relax and unwind is to potter

around the garden with the song of a blackbird and the buzzing of
insects in the background. It allows the mind to wander in the best
possible space, then tidy up borders or lawn edging with the
stresses of the day fading away. [30]

* 25 % of global warming is due to the vehicles and its also a biggest

consumer of petroleum products, causing an adverse affect on
natural environment causing greenhouse effect. [29]

3.11.5 Door lock

The door lock mechanism will be based on the prject of Francisco

Aguado, Zsolt Bancila, Job Eliud Garcia, and Noel Nava Gonzalez
done in Winter 2004,with instructors: Prof. Sridhar Kota and Mentor
Dr. Donald Malen. This mechanism is easily manufacturable and
economic too.[23] [refer appendix 3]
1. Inside Handle Redesign: modify two hooks, delete the hole and create two
snap-fits, also delete the rivet, reducing assembly time and manufacturing
complexity.

2. Rod Secure Redesign: replace the current clip with a plastic rod clip to
make the installation easier and save money

3. Striker Redesign: remove the metal spacer and the mylar washer, modify
the base of the striker by making it thicker and adding coating on the
surface that contacts the metal

3.11.7.1. Peacock Tail

This is a unique feature integrated in this car ,

representing aesthetics and fun. This feature is inspired
from peacock tail.

When the car will move in the rainy days , the drops of
rain when passes through the roof surface, flows
forward due to the aerodynamics creating a tail like
feature.

It may cause problem to the vehicles behind , in that

case it will be provided with an extra attachment at the
spoiler which will prevent the water to flow outwards
and let it flow down through the side.

This is another feature which is inspired from

the eye of Lord Shiva.

This car is having a mode of Auto pilot

so, to make it visible from the exterior ,this is
having the feature of half closed headlamps.

The headlamps will only be halfclosed when

the driver sets the mode to autopilot.

If we see it from another point of view,

Shiva when meditates , he is internally active
and externally calm similarly when the car
will be in meditation mode, it will be
externally represent calmness by half
closed eye but internally will be active.

* Fluids will be used as the cushion for the seats because they can absorb vibrations .These materials can
also absorb the vibrations that one might experience in a car. The fluid used will be Viscoelastic fluid: a relatively
incompressible substance with viscous properties; viscous fluids do not flow as readily as water and include
maple syrup and grease. (Otto Bock Floam, Sunrise Medical Quickie JayFlo are viscoelastic fluids.) [24]

The following complaints were selected for the Kano analysis:

• It is too difficult to close the door. A user has to apply too much effort to pull it fr om inside of the vehicle. Also, in the maximum
open position, the inside door handle is too far for an easy reach.
• The driver can accidentally lock the door when resting his elbow on the top of the inside trim panel.

And here are the questions asked:

• How would you feel if the door would close almost by itself once touched?
o Like (E)
• How would you feel if the door would require a strong pull in order to close?
o Don’t care
• How would you feel if the interior lock is moved from its current location (from on top of the trim panel, next to the inside handle)?
o Normal (L)
• How do you feel about having the door lock on top of the trim panel?
o Don’t like

The results of the questionnaire ar e showing clearly that the lock ing mechanism is a fairly Stat ic product. According to the co urse
material, we are in the right direction if we want to im prove the aesthetics and the ergonomics of the product, and reduce the cost –
these are typical activities for this status.

The Kano matrix shows that we need to focus on the effort required to close the door:

Opportunities for improvement

The door locking mechanism should be also analyzed for the following:

• Reduced cost.
• Reduced part cost for ease of assembly.
• Better appearance.
