Performance evaluation aims at predicting a systems behavior in a
quantitative manner.
When a new computer and telecommunication system is to be
built or an existing system has to be tuned, reconfigured, or
adapted, a performance evaluation can be employed to
forecast the impact of architectural or implementation
modifications on the overall system performance
Ex. The number of stations that can be connected to a LAN
and still maintain a reasonable average frame delay and
throughput!
It can be assessed by measurement/real testing, analytic
modeling, and simulation techniques.

Una red LAN (y en general, toda red de computadores y sistemas de
telecomunicaciones) debe garantizar calidad en cada uno de los
servicios (aplicaciones) ofrecidos a sus usuarios. Esta calidad se
mide cuantitativamente por medio de mtricas de QoS.

1) Los estudiantes (Est) y los tcnicos (Tech) se encuentran
conectados en subredes (VLAN) distintas.
VLAN 20: Tech (172.16.1.0/24)
VLAN 100: Tech (172.31.10.0/24)
2) nicamente los tcnicos pueden acceder al servicio de correo
(Email) ofrecido dentro de la red LAN.
3) Tanto los tcnicos como los estudiantes pueden acceder a servicios
de Navegacin, Video Conferencia, y VoIP ofrecidos por redes
externas.
4) El enrutamiento de paquetes a redes externas se realiza por medio
del protocolo RIP.
