Matthew 28 : 2 6 (NIV)
2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came
down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone
and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes
were white as snow. 4 The guards were so afraid of him that they
shook and became like dead men.
5 The angel said to the women, Do not be afraid, for I know that
you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he
has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

Help us to help you, do

not ignore the signs Transport MEC

The R37 - the dreaded route

from Burgersfort to Polokwane
- take care.
Limpopo MEC responsible for Transport, Safety, Security
and Liaison, Ms Mapula Mokaba-Phukwana on the eve
of Easter weekend told road users Dont Ignore the
signs.
She says death caused by accidents on Limpopos
roads requires the collective and individual responsibility
of all road users travelling to Moria.
MEC Mokaba-Phukwana says remind each other
about the signs of the road. Buckle up as you prepare
to heed the road. Dont ignore the signs. Dont just
cruze, remember the signs. Dont ignore the signs.
Walk responsibly. Help us help you arrive at your Easter
destination safe.
The past long weekend 95 drivers were arrested
for drunken driving. 71 minibuses were confiscated and
charged for overloading. One of the minibuses carried
31 passengers and the driver was arrested. 17 of his
passengers were travelling without legal permits and
the driver was not only charged for overloading, but also
for transporting illegal immigrants. The aggravate his
woes, his minibus was also taken of the road because
it was not roadworthy. The MEC says hundreds of law
enforcement officers will be on duty during the whole
Easter weekend for 24 hours a day on as much roads as
possible to ensure a safe and secure Easter weekend in
Limpopo.
We are combat ready to monitor the already show-

ing heavy traffic flow over the Moria pilgrimage weekend.

Traffic officials will be working from Maubane to Beit
Bridge monitoring traffic flow on the N1, R71 from Polokwane via Moria gate to Mopani, R37 from Polokwane via
Maja cross to Burgersfort, R101, R36, R81 and
R521. The Gilead road via Matlala to Groblers
bridge on our borders with Botswana is under construction. Road users are urged to contact our call center at
0800 0066 94 for traffic updates, or talk to officers conducting point duty on all our intersections to get notification of stray animals and pedestrian hazards.
The R512 between Thabazimbi and Belabela is
under construction, motorists are advised to practice
patience and work together with the construction officers
when approaching these points.
MEC Mokaba-Phukwana called on all road users to
obey all the rules of the road, exercise patience, refrain
from drinking and driving and to take ake a rest when
feeling tired.
She urged law enforcement officers to show no
mercy to traffic law violators. We will also strengthen our
road safety campaign.
Government welcomes partnerships that will assist
in encouraging good behavior on the roads and ensure
that the people of the Province feel safe on our roads.
Together we will move South Africa forward, MEC Mokaba Phukwana said.

Drought relief for farmers

Over the last few weeks many areas received ample rain. This is however not a
quick fix for the drought conditions farmers
experienced this season.
The Department of Agriculture, Forestry
and Fisheries says just over 42 000 farmers
have been assisted with drought relief measures in areas that were impacted by water
shortages.

Maphaka Tau, the Deputy Director General of Forestry and Natural Resources Management at the department, said this when
he briefed the joint Portfolio Committee on
Water and Sanitation, Environmental Affairs,
Cooperative Governance and Traditional
Affairs, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries
and Human Settlements at the Good Hope
Chamber in Parliament, on Wednesday (16

Where is the money?

A project to create proper hawker stalls in
Burgersfort and Praktiseer has been dragging on for almost a year and a half.
Some stalls had been completed and
hawkers who registered with the municipality has moved into some of the stalls.
These entrepreneurs are happy to

ness, but is also disappointed as it seems

that the project will not be completed any
time soon.
According to various of these businessmen they were told that there is no money
to complete the project. They will for the
moment just have to live with what is there

clothes to the Bophelong Home Based Care

Hip Hop Cares is a foundation that was
started in 2013. The founders wanted to give
back to their communities through music

Choose to give where it matters

Our community will never survive the
demon of violence which has currently
become a norm.
Our business community do little to
help people who are doing community
development. Instead they give much
help to the people who are notorious for
their violent actions in the community.
The formally registered community based
organisations struggle to secure any
help from the local companies - even
when they make some requests well in
advance. Sadly the groups which use
violence as their mode of operation can
get help anytime they want it.
We were very disappointed when the
youth of Mampuru Marathon Club failed
to make it to Longtom
Marathon event on the
19th of March 2016.
They knocked on every
door seeking for help,
but to no avail. The
same companies which
failed them are the

ones who helped the so-called community

representatives when they made Steelpoort

ago.
