Here's how to set up a simple OSC to MIDI translator on Microsoft Windows (and Mac) so
that Konkreet Performer can control, for example, Ableton Live.

1. Download and install Pure Data Extended.

2. Windows: Download and install MidiYoke. (Note for Windows 7 & Vista users: if you
have problems with the MidiYoke installation, disable the User Account Control (UAC) in
Windows just for the installation see this link).
Mac: Follow the instructions on setting up your Mac's IAC Driver for use as virtual MIDI
port: link.

3. Download, unzip and open the Pure Data patch, kp_basic.pd

4. Connect Konkreet Performer to your PC make sure your iPad and your computer are
both on the same wireless network. See the Getting Started guide for more details.

5. Check that OSC is being received ok: In the Pure Data patch, the incoming message
indicator flashes green when moving the Performer object.

If you have any problems, refer to our Getting Started guide for assistance with the
network connection. The Pure Data patch uses port 10000.

6. In Pure Data open the menu Media Midi Settings

7. For Output Device 1 select Out to Midi Yoke: 1 and press OK

8. That's it for the translation setup! Now your music program will see incoming MIDI
signals from Konkreet Performer

We recommend using the User Remote Script feature of Ableton Live to get fast instant
mapping to control racks.
a) download the Konkreet Performer User Remote Script
b) unzip
c) put the folder named "Konkreet Performer" in:
Windows: \Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\[your
version]\Preferences\User Remote Scripts\
(if you don't see the "AppData" folder, check your Windows Explorer settings to display
system files)
Mac: Mac OS X: [your username]/Library/Preferences/Ableton/[your version]/User
