Course Description
The Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
Provider Course combines lectures and practical
experience to teach participants to establish
priorities and stabilize the critically injured patient.
During the two day course, students will have the
opportunity to practice their assessment techniques
and their management of simulated patients in a
surgical skill practicum. The ATLS course has been
specifically designed for the primary care physician.
The student refresher course is a half-day course
offered to those who have previously taken the
ATLS course. This course must be taken within six
months after the expiration of the participants
ATLS certification. Please include a copy of your
current ATLS student card with your registration.
Mid-level Practitioners
Mid-levels now receive ATLS certification if
registering as a student. Physician assistants and
nurse practitioners may still register as auditors but
will not receive an ATLS card.
