CAREERS IN THE OIL & GAS INDUSTRY
P.T. McDermott Indonesia is the biggest offshore fabricator in
Indonesia and is one of the largest offshore construction
company in the world. As part of J. Ray McDermott, the Batam
fabrication yard is mainly involved in the construction of heavy
steel structures and process work for the Oil and Gas, and
Petrochemical Industry.
As a result of business growth we are currently recruiting for
the following positions:
1. ANALYSTS:
Responsibilities:

Liaising with the users and customers.

Design Analyst process/reports to support production

works with satisfactory and on time results.

Regularly conduct new user training.

Ensure the project setup data are consistently migrated

from customers databases to PTMI database on time and
correctly.

Interface with Department Heads to ensure that correct

and current information pertaining to the department is
readily available online

Requirements:

Bachelor degree from a reputable university.

Knowledge of 3D model softwares (PDMS/PDS/SPOOLGEN)

and other business softwares will be an advantage.

Knowledge of RDBMS is a must and SQL language and its

implementation into several commercial programming
languages.

Minimum 2 years programming experience.

Able to independently learn new technologies.

Strong analytical and design capabilities.

Proficient in oral and written English.

Willing to work in a fabrication/construction environment

Understanding of engineering terminology.

2. PRODUCTION ENGINEERS
a. STRUCTURAL
b. MECHANICAL
c. PIPING
d. ELECTRICAL
e. INSTRUMENT
f. COATING
Responsibilities:
1.
Review and approve project drawings and specifications.
2.
Prepare field instructions, material purchase lists,
construction punchlists, etc.
3.
Resolve fabrication problems with the fabrication
personnel, engineering office, vendors and clients, etc
4.
Ensure that all material and work are in accordance with
drawings and specifications.
5.
Monitor and report the project progress
6.
Ensure that the correct material and drawings are issued
to meet the project schedule.
Requirements:

Engineering degree from a reputable University

Engineers with experience in the construction business of

the oil & gas industry are preferred, however relevant
experience in the shipbuilding and petrochemical industries
will also be considered.

Applicants without engineering degrees but with 5 years

of relevant experience may also apply.

Proficient in oral and written English.

Willing to work in a fabrication/construction environment

3. CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERS [CE] :
Responsibilities :

Producing engineering procedures for lifting and loadout of

heavy structural components.

Performing 3D structural modeling, and design analysis to

support the fabrication works.

Naval Architectural studies for various loadout ballasting

operations.

Liaising with the fabrication personnel, vendors and

clients, etc.

Civil engineering design: concrete design, soil mechanics,

foundation design, etc.
Requirements :

Civil engineer majoring in Structural or Mechanical

engineer majoring in Construction graduated from reputable
Universities with min GPA of 2.75.

Familiar with 3D structural analysis software, and other

business software.

Design engineering office experience preferred,

particularly in Offshore or Onshore Oil & Gas Plant.

Strong analytical and design capabilities.

Proficient in English, both oral and writing.

Willing to work in a fabrication/construction conditions
