o Safeguard from the fitna
Introduction ( )Ayat 1 to 8
Ayah 1: The Quran is the safeguard to the fitnas. If youre connected to the Quran then youll be
protected from the fitnas. You praise Allah (swt) that He sent upon His slave Prophet Mohammed
( )the Book, which is the Quran. And Allah (swt) is praising His Prophet ( )by calling him
His slave. We have to praise Allah (swt) that there is no crookedness in the Quran.
Ayah 2: it is an upright and straight book, there is no change in it. This is what keeps you firm in the
fitna. In this Book, it warns and gives glad tidings. It warns of a severe punishment from Allah (swt),
it begins with warning because of the severity of fitnas. And it give glad tidings, but for whom? The
believers, the faith is truly in their heart, they believe in the pillars of faith. And what else? They
perform righteous good deeds; they dont stop from performing it. For them is a great reward, what
is this reward?

Taddabur Surah Al Kahf ()

Ayah 3: they will abide in paradise forever, nothing can take them out.
Ayah 4: we are back to being warned again - Allah (swt) is warning those who said He took a son. It
is a great statement for this reason Allah (swt) is warning about it specifically.
Ayah 5: those who say that Allah (swt) took a son should be based on knowledge, and they have
nothing to back it up. And this shows that its a cause for fitna when people say things while they
dont have knowledge. They are just blindly following their forefathers. What a big statement to say,
and theyre just saying lies. This shows that those without knowledge will lie and claim things and
this is a fitna.
Ayah 6: there are people who wrongly claim against Allah (swt) or deny Him, and theyre not
believing in this Book so Allah (swt) is telling His Prophet ( )to not kill himself from grief over
what theyre doing. This shows there are people drowning in fitna, but you cannot take them out,
no matter how much it hurts, subhan Allah.
Ayah 7: Allah (swt) has made everything on the earth from the mountains, trees, plants, seas, etc
as adornment for the earth itself, why? For us to be tested, and tested according to what? Who is
doing the best deeds. Will people fall back to the duniya or reach the level of ihsan. You have
attraction and adornment around you, but you will not be deceived by it. Some will do good deeds
while others will do bad deeds sins. When there is a test, then you will know whos doing the best.
Without a test, then you wont know.
Ayah 8: everything on this earth will be dust and barren when the test ends.
May Allah (swt) protect us from the fitnas. Ameen
