21 Reasons Why Colombia is the Worlds Happiest

The prestigious American online newspaper, The Huffington Post, recently wrote an
interesting article that listed 21 reasons why Colombia is considered the happiest
country in the world.
The newspaper claimed that in late 2012, Colombia was recognized as the happiest
country in the world according to a survey carried out by the firm WIN / Gallup
International Association, whose results were published in early January 2013.
After assessing the level of happiness of people around the world using a survey
called Global Barometer of Hope and Happiness, it was revealed that Colombians
are almost two times happier than the average person throughout the world. This
was determined after interviewing 55,817 men and women from 54 countries.
According to the study, Colombian citizens of Barranquilla showed higher levels of
happiness and optimism, followed by citizens of cities such as Medellin,
Bucaramanga, Bogota and Cali.
However, The Huffington Post raised the question, Why are Colombians so
happy? To answer this question, the newspaper not only listed 21 reasons but also
shared beautiful photographs and videos of both the landscapes as well as the
cultural and culinary diversity of the country.

1. Biodiversity

The article points out that the first reason why Colombia is happy is because of its
biodiversity. The country of Colombia is the second most diverse in the world after
Brazil, in addition to being the most diverse per square kilometer.
2. Gateway to the Americas

Colombia is known as the Gateway to the Americas, which means that it is the
only country with access to the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Also, in
addition to its popular beaches, Colombia offers the opportunity to explore the
Amazon jungle and climb the Sierra Nevada mountains.
3. Beautiful Women

The article highlights the beauty of the women of our country and adds, Its no
secret that one of the best known treasures [of Colombia] is its beautiful women.
Some women to note are Sofia Vergara, Shakira and Danna Garcia.

Even though many know Colombia as a tropical paradise because of its location

deserts, and mountains. The differing climates is also one reason why Colombia is
one of the most attractive tourist destinations on the planet.

The Huffington Post notes that if there is one thing that identifies Colombia, it is its
matchless and delicious freshly ground coffee. Furthermore, it points out that the
region of Colombia known as El Cafetero is home to what many consider the worlds
best coffee.

The tenth reason The Huffington Posts article considers Colombia to be the
happiest country is because of the number of holidays that exist in Colombia. The
number of holidays allow Colombians to value rest.
11. A Healthy Body is a Happy Body

habit of taking a ride on a bike path every Sunday with friends and family.

happy and thankful to have been born on this earth.
