Out-patient services (OPD) are available from 7am to 7pm. OPD charges are as follows:
7 am -9 am
9 am-1 pm
1 pm-5 pm
5 pm-7 pm
There is a waiting area on ground floor beside the OPD. There are total 3 OPD rooms, all 3 of
them are general OPD, 2 of the doctors (MO) are working full time, other 2 doctors are
MDGP and gynecologist working part time, and other 2, and dermatologist and ENT surgeon
have monthly visits. Free OPD service is provided by HA every Friday from 3pm to 5pm.
Cases of TB, normal and cesarean delivery and other complicated cases are referred to Rapti
Zonal Hospital, Ghorahi and Nepalgunj.
Diagnostic Services
1. Ultrasound: There is one room for USG in separate building that is used for both
emergency and the routine purpose.
2. X-Ray: It provides both the emergency (24 hours) and routine diagnostic services.
3. Laboratory Services: Samples are collected and the tests are also done in the same room.
The room is spacious and is well equipped. The following investigations are carried out:
a. Hematology: PCV, TC, DC, ESR, platelets, malaria parasite smear, RBC
morphology, BT, CT
b. Biochemistry: Blood sugar F/R, BUN, creatinine, albumin/total protein, bilirubin,
amylase, sodium, potassium, calcium, AST, ALT, ASP
c. Urine: Urine albumin, urine R/E,M/E, urine analysis (glucose, bile), urine
pregnancy test, urine 24 hr. protein, urine AFB
d. Microbiology: Gram stain, Blood, urine, pus culture and sensitivity, leprosy
smear, fungal stain
e. Sputum: sputum for AFB, sputum for gram stain
f. Stool: microscopy, ova and parasites, stool for occult blood
g. Serology: RA, ASO, CRP, blood grouping, cross matching, transfusion, HIV 1&2
antibody, HbsAg, anti-HCV,VDRL/RPR, TPHA, malarial Ag, M. tuberculosis,
H.pylori, Hepatitis B,C, WIDAL test, Typhoid IgG/IgM, UPT & Manteaux test.
In-Patient Services
In patient department is located in 1st and 2nd floor with 55 beds in total. They are not divided
into specific wards, and the beds occupied by patients are very few.
Operation Theatre
Minor surgeries are done in this hospital but major surgeries has not been started yet.
Although they are planning to start soon. The OT room is small and simple with no OT light,
anesthesia machine and AC.
Other Services
a. Pharmacy: Pharmacy is located in 1 st floor on the hospital building. It stores most of
the frequently used drugs for daily dispensing purposes and gets supplied from the
central store. However drugs are dispensed with or without prescription.
b. Ambulance: There is 1 ambulance for 24hrs service.
c. Health camps: Rapti Life Care hospital organizes different health camps 2-3 times a
year in rural hilly districts.
Logistic Management
An efficient management of logistic is crucial for effective and efficient delivery of health
services as well as to ensure quality health services. Emphasis is given on efficient and
effective management of essential medicine distribution, vaccines, contraceptives, medical
equipment, forms, registers, and other supplies at all levels of health facilities.
