Business-Critical Continuity
A quick and cost-effective way to deploy and protect the latest mobile networking technology
In the race to attract customers by providing more mobile services and greater
data transfer, wireless carriers must
quickly embrace and deploy ever-more
sensitive networking technology at their
cell sites. As the industry moves steadily
toward LTE (Long Term Evolution) and
other 4th generation mobile broadband
standards, both carriers and OEMs are
looking for the fastest ways to get this
equipment up and running, and keep it at
peak performance to maintain customer
satisfaction and protect their revenue
streams.

Enclosure Flexibility
NetXtend Cell Site Series enclosures enable you to quickly and economically create
the ideal operating environment for each sensitive electronic component without
designing and fabricating a unique enclosure for every site and every application.
Plus, once an enclosure is deployed, it can be reconfigured in the field to accommodate new equipment and new requirements.
Roof Panel
Mounting
NetXtend Cell Site Series enclosures are
designed for pad or grate mounting. An
optional mounting plinth is available with
six bolt locations. Installation of bolts in
all six positions meets requirements for
Zone 4 seismic applications.
Battery Choices
Battery backup assures continued operation during loss of commercial
power, keeping your cell site up and running and keeping your revenue
stream flowing. NetXtend Cell Site Series enclosures are available with -48V
and +24V battery shelf options. Cabinets can hold up to 20 batteries by combining chambers, while still meeting Seismic Zone 4 requirements. Battery
shelf compartments are isolated from electronics compartments to allow for
optimum thermal zones for each type of equipment in the cabinet.
Power Cabinet
NetXtend Cell Site Power Cabinets offer
three sealed chambers for DC power,
ancillary equipment and batteries. The DC
power chamber is configured with either
a +24V NetSure 700 system or a -48V
NetSure 701 system. The center and bottom chambers can be combined to house

DC Power Integration
NetXtend Cell Site Series enclosures utilize Emerson Network Powers NetSure
DC power technology platform to
ensure the reliability of every active OSP
enclosure. Emerson Network Power has
been an industry leader in power solutions since 1909, with real-world, global
knowledge of all types of telecom DC
power needs.
AC Distribution / ATS
To assure reliable transfer of business-critical loads to emergency sources
and provide over-current protection and surge protection, an Automatic
Transfer Switch (ATS) can be mounted directly on the enclosure or separately
mounted on an H frame or other arrangement at the cell site.
Emersons ASCO 7000 Series switches combine best-in-class technology
from world-class manufacturers with a comprehensive offering of options
and capabilities. Key features include commercial and generator power
breakers, a 42-position Square D load center, customer-specified TVSS
(Transient Voltage Surge Suppression) and a generator receptacle or cam-lok
assembly for engine-generator connections.
If cabinet mounting is specified, the ATS is mounted on the cabinet at the
factory. ASCO ATS units are UL 1008 certified and meet NFPA and NEC
requirements for emergency and standby power systems.
