Abstract:
In this article the author identifies and examines a trend against the promotion
of global democracy. He claims that in the period 1974-2008 democracy advanced
in a uniform manner in a number of developing countries but that trend has begun
to recede. The author claims that the predatory nature of some nations and the
democratic impulses in others can be managed through the development of good gov
ernance and through the judicious use of a economic assistance by democratic nat
ions in the developed world.
