Secure professional- level position in community engagement, advising, or

Seek out mentor at this new institution who will be able to connect me with other
professionals on campus and understand the campus culture
Continue to make connections with community organizations regardless of my
functional area of employment
Volunteer in creative community or arts organizations to gain knowledge of the
non profit sector and arts organizations
Seek opportunities to expand my experience and competence in law and policy,
and human resources

Involve myself at a higher university level, for example join a committee, in


order to broaden my knowledge of the institution and my network
Continue to be involved with professional organizations such as ACPA and
NASPA, including attending conferences to maintain and broaden my network
Find opportunities to engage with higher education institutions in other
countries, including but not limited to attending international conferences
Continue to expand my knowledge of and competency in outdoor education
Utilize my national and international network to conduct research on community
engagement to understand how universities connect to their communities world
wide
Build relationships with community non-profit organizations that offer
assistance to marginalized students in access to higher education, to understand
barriers to higher education for these students and to increase my multicultural
competence
Apply for Fulbright fellowship
Use my research findings to build programs that connect the university and its
students to community organizations that focus on creative arts or out door
recreation
Use my network of professionals in higher education and non-profit sector to
continue to make connections to communities and access to higher education
Present research at national conferences
Form mentee relationships with newer professionals at my institution, or SDA
students
Utilize my knowledge of community organizations and university-community
partnerships to form an organization specifically devoted to either encouraging
creativity or active out door involvement that will connect k-12 students with
access to higher education
Engage in university partnership in order to offer service learning opportunities
for students, and form reciprocal research and resource relationship
Enroll in another masters degree program in Art history or cultural studies, or
pursue higher degree in education in order to teach
