at an elevated effort level
working on We will be working as a pitching staff to be consistently in the strike zone in order to give our defense chances to
get outs and minimize given runs and big innings due to walks.
We will also be looking to finding different and creative ways to
manufacture runs to gain big innings ourselves. We are young so
we will be working to improve with every step
conference The conference is very equal as always. Any given
team can knock off anyone on a given day in the conference.
Everyone has to be prepared to play at a high level in order to
get wins in the on a consistent basis in the Big North as always

returnees Steve Ingersoll is a fourth-year
returner. Steve plays middle infield as well as
pitches and catches. Lucas Garcia (senior) can
play about any position on the field. He primarily
plays third base but will pitch, catch and play
some outfield. Alex Kammeraad (senior) is our
most veteran outfielder. Zack Paulus (senior) is
playing in his second year of high school baseball. Last year Zack spent much of the season as
designated hitter. He will play some outfield this
year as well. Nate McLeod (junior) was a utility
player for us last year spending time in the outfield and corner infield. We expect him to have
a big season this year. Jacob Chase (junior)
outfielder with good wheels and a solid arm. He
will also see a lot of innings on the mound. Zac
McLeod (sophomore). As a freshman last year,
Zac saw time on the mound as well as at first
base and outfield. We expect him to be a regular starter on the mound for us this year.
newcomers Danny Gordon (junior) has yet to
play a spring sport in high school but has shown
a lot of potential in the first few weeks of our season. He is a solid athlete (football and wrestling)
and is very coachable. He will start the season
in the outfield for us and will also play some first
base. We have a class of 5 freshman players
joining us this year. We have been working hard
to bring these guys up to speed so they can
play a role on this team. The freshmen are listed
below: Hunter Perkins (freshman - C, P, 2B, 1B, OF)
Brandon Buckmaster (freshman - 1B, OF) Garrett

strengths We are very mid/long distance heavy this
year with over half our team fitting into this category of
events. Im expecting many of our LDers to make quite a
showing this season.
working on We really went back to basics this year
and spent much of our early season on top-end running
mechanics, and technique in all field events. With pole
vault making its come back this season at Mesick, and my
taking over coaching the boys team, I really felt that these
issues needed to be addressed to make progress in all our
events.

goals We have many first-year athletes this year, as well
as having six seniors leaving us. So we will be a young team
next year, perfect for rebuilding to have the depth needed
to win tournaments and championships in the future. We
always do well individually, and we are looking forward
to seeing these individuals do well this year. We have the
talent at Mesick, we just need to help the kids realize their
true potential.
