WHAT DO WE BELIEVE?
FUNDAMENTAL TRUTHS IN WHICH WE BELIEVE

1. We believe that the Bible or the Holy Scripture is the Word of God without mistake, and our
only norm of faith.

The Bible or the Holy Scripture, composed of the Old Testament and the New Testament, is
breathed by God (2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20, 21).
The Bible is a godly revelation to people. It was written in different time periods, until its
completion, with the book of Revelations. No one has the right to add, take out or change
anything in it (Prov. 30:6, Gal. 1:8-9, Rev. 22:18-19). The Bible is the Word of God, live and
working, sharper than a double-edged sword (Heb. 4:12).
The Old Testament shows us how God prepared the Messiahs coming into the world, who is
the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor.10:6; Galatians 3:24; Col. 2:14-17; Ephes. 2:14-16; Heb. 8:13).
The New Testament shows us the life and teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ who is the
foundation of the Church of God. Also, the New Testament includes the teaching of the
apostles (Rom. 10:4; 3:24; 1 Cor. 15:12; 2 Tim. 1:13; Rom. 1:16; 2 Thess. 1:8-9).

2. We believe in a God in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
2-A) God the Father
He revealed Himself in the old times to His servants as a God who does not depend on
someone, saying I am who I am (Exod. 3:14).
God is Spirit (John 4:24), life (1 Tim 6:13-16, Acts 17:25-28), light (1 John 1:5), love (1 John
4:8), wisdom (Jer. 10:12), justice and holiness (Rev. 15:3; 4:8).
God is alive and eternal (Ps. 84:2; Deut. 33:27; Isa. 40:28). He is good (Mark 10:18), perfect
(Mat. 5:48), compassionate (Deut. 4:31, James 5:11), faithful (2 Tim. 2:13), patient (Rom.
2:4). He cannot be seen, not comprehended by human mind (1 John 4:12; Job 11:7-9).
He can be known through Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit, through the Holy Scripture (1
John 5:20, 1 Cor. 2:10-11), through creation (Rom. 1:19-20, Isa. 40:26) and through His care
for us (1 Pet. 5:7).
2-B) God the Son
Our Lord Jesus Christ is eternal (Heb. 13:8). He has existed since eternity (John 17:5), and is
the Only Son born of the Father, the Firstborn over all creation before any being (Col.
1:15-16, 17; John 1:2-3).
He is the true Messiah (Savior), who was promised, the fulfiller of the Law and of the
prophecies of the Old Testament (Luke 2:26, 27).
He is the Son of God (Luke 1:32) and at the same time, the Son of man (Mat. 9:6; Mark
2:28).
Through the Holy Spirit, He became human and was born through the Virgin Mary (Luke
1:34-35), coming into the world as man. He revealed God as Father to us (Mat. 5:16; John
4:23). The Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil (1 John
3:8).
3

He came on earth: to take away the sins of those who will believe in Him (John 1:29), to
suffer (Isa. 53:3-10; Mat. 16:21), to die for us (Rom. 5:8), to make peace between us and God
(Col. 1:20), to save us (John 12:47).
The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7).
He rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Cor. 15:4). He ascended to
heaven and sat at the right hand of God (Mark 16:19).
He intercedes for the believers preparing a place for them in heaven (John 14:3). He is the
first raised from the dead (Col. 1:18).
Through the resurrection He received a new body changed into a glorified state (John 20:1220; Philip. 3:21).
He will come a second time to take away His Church from the earth, and for the judgment of
the world (Mat. 25:31-33).
He is the judge of the living and the dead (Acts 10:42, John 5:22).

2-C) God the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit, also called the Spirit of God and Comforter or the Spirit of Truth (John
14:26) is the third person of the Holy Trinity (1 Cor. 12:3-6; 2 Cor. 13:14).
He has existed since the beginning; He worked together with the Father and the Son at the
creation (Gen. 1:2).
His work and nature are absolutely unfathomable by human mind, the same as God Himself
is unfathomable. Through the Spirit of God and His breathing, all people are made. Through
Him all beings receive life (Job 33:4).
Gods people of old spoke and wrote the Word of God moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Pet.
1:21).
At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came down on the believers, right after the Lord Jesus had
completed His mission on earth and had ascended into heaven (Acts 2:1-4). The disciples
were filled with the Holy Spirit and since that day they were accompanied by supernatural
works: signs, miracles, healings and various gifts (Heb. 2:4, Mark 16:17-18).
He is the guide of the New Testament Church of God, since the day of Pentecost and until its
rapture (John 16:13).
Today, the Holy Spirit separates (Acts 13:2; 20:28), teaches (John 14:26), fills (Acts 2:4;
4:31), clothes (Luke 24:49) and sends Gods servants into ministry (Acts 10:19-20; 8:29).
Through the Holy Spirit man is born again (John 3:5-8; Tit. 3:5), receives eternal life (Gal.
6:8), can live according to Gods will (Rom. 8:6-10), understands the Holy Scripture and the
works of God (1 Cor. 2:9-14).
God gives the gift of the Holy Spirit to those who repent, obey Him and receive Jesus Christ
as their personal Savior (Acts 2:38; 5:32; John 7:37-39).
The Holy Spirit took the form of a dove (Mat. 3:16).
The filling with the Holy Spirit was accompanied by exterior physical manifestations:
tongues of fire (Acts 2:1-4), wind (Acts 2:2), earthquake (Acts 4:31).

3. We believe that the Lord in the beginning created the heavens and the earth (Gen. 1:1).
3-A) The heavens
There is the throne of reign of God (Ps. 103:19; Mat. 5:34) and the dwelling of angels (Mat.
18:10).
The Word of God shows us that in the third heaven is Gods Heaven (2 Cor. 12:1-4).
4

The Lord Jesus ascended into heaven and there He prepares a place for His faithful (John
14:2; Luke 24:50-51).
In heaven are written the names of the saved (Luke 10:20; John 17:24).

3-B) The earth

In the beginning God made the heavens and the earth (Gen. 1:1).
The earth was without form and void (Gen. 1:2). God through His power and His Word made
it that within six days the earth would be habitable and He gave it to the man to fill, to have
dominion over it and to care for it (Gen. 1:31; 26:28).
After sin came into the world, God cursed the earth (Gen. 3:17-18). Because of mans
evildoing, God brought judgment and punishment, such as: the destruction by flood (Gen.
6:11-13), the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 19:12-14; 2 Pet. 2:6) and others.
Since then, other calamities took place, according to what the Lord Jesus foretold (Mat. 24:7).
In the end, the existing earth will make room for a new earth where righteousness will dwell
(2 Pet. 3:7; Rev. 21:1-4).

4. We believe that God created the angels.

4-A) The angels
The angels are spiritual beings created by God, without sin, placed into His service (Gen.
19:15; Rev. 19: 9-10).
They fulfill various kinds of service for those who will inherit the salvation (Heb. 1:14;
Luke 15:10; Acts 10:4-6, 27; 23:24).
The angels are, at the same time, the ones who fulfill the will of God, executing the decision
of His anger in regard to punishing the evildoers (Mat. 13:39-41, 49).
There are different kinds of angels, bearing names such as Archangel Michael, Archangel
Gabriel, seraphim and cherubs. Each category has a different commission (Gen. 3:24; Isa.
6:6-7; Jude v.9; Luke 1:26; Josh. 5:13-15).
4-B) The fall of Lucifer and of other angels
The devil was once a bright morning star, but because of pride, he fell. Today he is the head
of evil angels who did not guard their place and fell (Isa. 14:12-14; Jude 6; 2 Pet. 2:4).
His name means slanderous and causing divide. He is also called devil and satan, deceiving
all mankind (Rev. 12:9), and all unbelievers lay under his power (Acts 26:18; Rev. 12:7-8; 2
Pet. 2:4). He is the master and god of this age (2 Cor. 4:3-4; John 14:30; Acts 26:17-18),
murderous (Gen. 3:4-5), the father of all lies (John 8:44), the tempter (Mat. 4:3; 1 Thess. 3:5)
and the plotter against the children of God (Job 1: 9-11, Ephes. 2:16).
He was conquered through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ (John 14:30-31; Ephes. 2:16).
His fate will be his casting into the place of fire together with his angels (Mat. 25:41; Rev.
20:10).

5. We believe that God created man out of dust.

Man was created after the image and likeness of God: body, soul and spirit (Gen. 1:26; 2:27;
1 Thess. 5:23). Man is a trinity.

Man was created pure and innocent; he was placed in the Garden of Eden to work it and to
guard it (Gen. 2:15). He was endowed with all the attributes of a being made in the image and
likeness of God: feelings, reason and will.

6. We believe that sin entered the world because of mans disobedience of Gods commandment.

The Lord God commanded the man, saying, From any tree of the garden you may eat
freely, but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day
that you eat from it you will surely die. (Gen. 2:16-17).
Having allowed himself to be tempted by the devil, the old serpent, through the woman, man
broke the commandment he received from God, and in this way, through his own free will
became slave to sin, enemy to God, which is why he was thrown out of Eden and given to
suffering, toil and death (Gen. 3). With his fall, Adam pulled all mankind, his descendents,
into sin. All have sinned (Rom. 5:10-12; Ephes. 2:1, 2). Because of this, no one can save
himself on his own or each other (Ps. 49:7-8). Through the Grace of God, shown through
Jesus Christ, man can be freed from slavery to sin (Rom. 5:19-21), and troubles, toil and
death can work together for his good (Rom. 8:28-30; 5:3-4; Acts 14:22).
Once sin came into the world through the disobedience of the first people, it affected all
mankind (Rom. 5:19).
Sin is any violation of the Word, the will and the commandment of God (Rom. 3:23; Gal.
5:19-21). Man sins through the omission of the good expected by God or by acting on things
against His will.
Sin is any kind of deed that defiles the body, the soul and the spirit: adultery and fornication,
lack of control, laziness, gluttony, burdening oneself with worldly thoughts, evil thoughts,
suicide, abortions, slander, dissension, lying, hypocrisy, stealing, cheating, not helping the
saints when needed, as well as torturing animals (Gen. 38:2-10; Prov. 12:10; Rom. 12:13;
Gal. 5:19-21; Rev. 21:8).
These are also sin: lack of faith, indifference, ignorance of the grace that has come through
Jesus Christ, lack of fear of God, taking His name in vain, idolatry, superstition, witchcraft,
etc.
Once sin is committed, it is followed by consequences (Gal. 6:8). It is the sting of death and it
attracts the eternal punishment of God (Rev. 22:15; 21:8). The payment for sin is death (Rom.
6:23).

7. We believe that the grace of God has made and is making possible the salvation of man through
the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Grace is the kindness and boundless love of God, shown through our Lord Jesus Christ to us
sinners (John 1:17; Ephes. 2:4-7). No one can save themselves through their own actions or
charity, nor through the acts of the Law of the Old Testament, only through Jesus Christ (Gal.
2:27; Ephes. 2:5-9). Grace works together with faith. Through grace one finds favor in the
sight of God (1 Cor. 15:9-10). Grace is the source of blessings (Ephes. 4:7-8; 1 Cor. 15:10; 2
Cor. 1:15; 1 Pet. 4:10).
Through grace God teaches us how to live in this age, in moderation, with justice and
godliness (Tit. 2:11-12).

Grace is above the multitude of sins, surpassing their greatness and multitude (Rom. 5:20). It
can be multiplied in us through knowing God (2 Pet. 1:2). It strengthens the heart (Heb.
13:9), it grows us spiritually (2 Pet 3:18) and restores our speech (Col. 4:6).
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in
Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16)

8. We believe that salvation is conditioned by faith, repentance and being born again.
8-A) Faith
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Heb. 11:1; 2
Cor. 4:18).
Faith comes from hearing the Word of God (Rom. 10:17). True faith starts from the heart
(Rom. 10:9). Through faith from the heart one receives righteousness (Rom. 10:10), salvation
(Ephes. 2:8), the cleansing of the heart (Acts 15:9), forgiveness (Gal. 2:16; Ephes. 2:8; Gal.
3:22), the inheritance and right to call ourselves the children of God (Gal. 3:26).
Without faith no one can be pleasing to God (Heb 11:6). Faith is true and active only when
accompanied by actions (James 2:14-22). We all have to keep the faith which was given once
for all to the saints (Jude v.3). In the last days, many will forsake the true faith (1 Tim. 4:1-4).
For those who refuse to believe the truth, God allows them to stray away, as consequence, to
believe a lie to their condemnation (2 Thess. 2:11-12).
For those who believe, everything is possible: forgiveness, healing from diseases, etc. (Mat.
8:13; John 14:12).
8-B) Repentance
Repentance is a commandment of the Lord Jesus (Mark 1:14-15). It represents mans return
from his sinful strayed ways, to God (Isa. 55:7); a complete change from the old life to a new
one, according to Gods Word (Rom. 2:4); the change of mans thinking. It means repentance
for the life lived while not knowing God and ceasing to sin (Tit.2:11-13; Lam. 3:39-40). He
who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have
mercy (Prov. 28:13).
God calls all people to repentance, willing that none of them would perish (2 Pet. 3:9), but to
reach salvation (1 Tim 2:4). Even when a believer sins, he is encouraged to repent of what he
has done (Rev 2:5; Gal. 6:1).
Repentance is true only when it is done out of a sincere and pure heart that seeks to repair
damage and mistakes done to his neighbor (Luke 19:8; Acts 20:20-21).
8-C) New birth
No one can become a child of God until he is first born again (John 3:5-8). No matter how
good a man might be, if he is not born again, he cannot inherit the Kingdom of God (John
3:3-5). Man is made of body, soul and spirit. As long as man lives in sin, the body does what
it pleases, dragging the soul and the spirit, defiling them in desires, passions and sins. In this
way, the spirit is dead toward God (1 Thess. 5:23; Ephes. 2:1-3).
After hearing Gods Word comes saving faith (Rom. 10:17); followed by repentance (Acts
2:37-38) and re-birth through the Word of God and Holy Spirit (John 3:5; James 1:118; 1
Pet.1:23; Tit. 3:5).
He who is born again does not do what he wants, but walks and allows himself to be guided
by the Spirit (Gal. 5:25) having in his being the guidance of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:1, 14).

Without being born again, faith (James 2:19), knowledge (Rom. 1:32) and the baptism in
water (Acts 8:13-24) have no value. Those who are born of God do not sin (1 John 3:9; 5:18),
and those who sin are not born again (1 John 3:6-10).

9. We believe that we have Gods forgiveness as a result of receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as
Savior.

Forgiveness is an attribute of God through which His kindness toward all sinful men is
proven through the fact that He erases their past after they have returned to Him (Acts 10:43;
1 John 1:9).
Once forgiven, the sinner becomes relieved of his entire burden of sin that had been pressing
on his conscience, and this way he feels truly happy (Ps. 32:1-2). Therefore, the confession of
sins is followed by relief for the soul and by forgiveness from God (Ps. 32:5; 1 John 1:9).
After receiving forgiveness, the pardoned sinner must confess Jesus to other sinners (Luke
2:11). We believe that the fruit of the believers saved from sin is sanctification (Rom. 6:22).
Sanctification means complete separation from sin and setting apart for God. Any man who
has returned to Godand has been born again, forgiven and justified is considered sanctified (1
Cor. 6:10-11; Col. 3:12; Ephes. 5:6-7).
Sanctification takes place in the life of the believer through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ
(Heb. 13:12), through the Word of God (John 15:3; 17:17; 1 Tim. 4:5) and through the Holy
Spirit (Rom. 5:5; 14:17; 15:13; Tit. 3:4). Sanctification must include the body, soul and spirit
(Rom. 6:13, 19; 1 Thess. 5:23).
The process of sanctification excludes the usage of drugs, smoking and alcoholic drinks (Isa.
55:2; Prov. 20:1; 23:31-33; Ephes. 5:18), as well as homosexuality, suicide, euthanasia and
vain vows (Acts 4:17-20).

10. We believe in the promise of the baptism with the Holy Spirit for all believers.

The Holy Spirit is promised by God through the prophet Joel (Joel 2:28-29). The prophet Joel
speaks about two great outpours: the early rain and the late rain (Joel 2:23). The early rain
pour took place in the first centuries, beginning on the day of Pentecost in Jerusalem (Acts
2:2-4), and the late rain pour takes place nowadays.
The Holy Spirit sets out from the Father through the Son (John 15:26). The baptism with the
Holy Spirit is a seal for the day of redemption (Ephes. 4:30), a guarantee of the inheritance
(Ephes. 1:13, 14), the power from above for the service of testifying to the full Gospel (Acts
1:8). It is not the same as the second birth. The Spirit is received on the basis of faith after
being born again, and it cannot take place before this (Acts 19:1-6; Ephes. 1:13, 14). The
Samaritans, listening to Phillips sermon received the Word and were baptized with water;
when Peter and John came to them, they prayed for them, laying their hand on them to
receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 8:12-17).
The baptism with the Holy Spirit can also be received by the laying of hands (Acts 8:17;
19:6; 10:44-46; 2:12-17). One must ask for the baptism with the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13).
The baptism with the Holy Spirit means the filling with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4), and the
baptism with fire (Mat. 3:11) is the life of trials which God allows for those set apart (1 Pet.
4:12-14, 16-19; 1:6, 7).

The baptism with the Holy Spirit is accompanied by the sign of speaking in other languages
(Acts 2:4; 10:46; 19:6).
Through the baptism with the Holy Spirit comes the filling with power for a new holy life in
divine service. This baptism can also be followed by the receiving of other gifts (Luke 24:49;
Acts 1:4-8; 1 Cor. 12:1-31). The baptism with the Holy Spirit is a unique experience, and its
filling can be repeated (Acts 4:3).
According to the Holy Scripture it is necessary for those called by God to spread the Gospel
fully, to persist to be filled with power from above, so that they are accompanied by the signs,
miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit (Mark 16:17,18; Luke 22:49; 1 Cor. 2:1-5; Heb. 2:4).

11. We believe that the work of the Holy Spirit manifests itself in the nine gifts.

After the baptism with the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit allocates various spiritual gifts as He
pleases. The Holy Scripture speaks of nine gifts, namely: speaking about wisdom, speaking
about knowledge, faith, the gift of healing, the power to do miracles, the dividing of spirits,
prophecy, speaking in various languages and interpreting the languages (1 Cor. 12:1-10).
All believers must have a certain level of wisdom, knowledge and faith; these, through the
Word of God (Rom. 12:2; John 5:39; Mat. 22:29; Rom. 10:17).
The gifts of the Holy Spirit are supernatural and perfect in their work (Acts 8:20; 2 Pet. 3:16;
Mark 16:17, 18).
The faith in the Lord Jesus Christ which is part of the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22) must be in
all believers, but not all receive the gift of faith (Acts 3:16).
The same when receiving the baptism with the Holy Spirit: all believers speak in new
languages, but not all have the gift of speaking in various languages (1 Cor. 12:29, 30). The
gift of speaking in languages is used according to what is written in 1 Cor. 14:27, 28. In the
Church, there must be gifts because they are ordered and established by God for its spiritual
growth (1 Cor. 12:28); not all believers receive them, but the Holy Spirit gives to each person
in the manner in which He deems (1 Cor. 12:29-39).
The Word of God demands that we pursue love and strive for spiritual gifts (1 Cor. 14:1).

12. We believe that, both the new birth and the baptism with the Holy Spirit must be followed by
the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

The fruit of the Holy Spirit is the harvest of a sanctified life after we have become children of
God, born again, guided by the Holy Spirit in all aspects (Gal. 5:22, 23).
With the new birth, the Fruit of the Spirit starts to become obvious in the life of the believer
(1 John 5:18; Tit. 3:8).
Each believer, born again, baptized with the Holy Spirit must have the fruit of the Holy Spirit
in abundance in his life (Gal. 5:22, 23; Mat. 7:16-20).

13. We believe in divine healing.

Divine healing (supernatural) are part of the plan of salvation completed on Golgotha through
Lord Jesus Christs sacrifice (Mat. 8:16, 17).

Healing can be received through personal faith (Luke 8:48), through the gift of healing (1
Cor. 12:9; Acts 3:6) and through prayer said aloud by the sick person, following the
anointing, according to what is written in James 5: 14-16.
The Holy Scripture teaches us that diseases are the consequence of sin, but even if the sick
person had not sinned, sickness is still follows from the first mans fall (Gen. 3:13; Deut.
28:15-62; John 5:14).
Since sickness and suffering are the consequences of the fall in sin, healing is included in the
same plan of salvation as the forgiveness of sin, for those who believe. The Lord Jesus
crucified our sins and iniquities, as well as our diseases and suffering (Isa. 53:4, 5; Mat.
8:16,17).
The anointing with oil is ordered only for the believers. It is done by the deacons when the
sick person asks for it (James 5:14-16). After the act of anointing, prayer and laying of hands
follow (Mark 16:17,18; 6:12,13).
The Bible does not stop anyone from consulting doctors and to follow their recommendations
when in the case of sickness (Mark 2:17).

14. We believe in the existence of Gods Church established by our Lord Jesus Christ as a live and
unitary organism.

The word Church is the equivalent of Eklesia in Greek, and it means the gathering of
the chosen. In the context of the Holy Scripture, the church is universal and included all
believers from past and present times, who, after gearing Jesus calling, decided to turn to the
Lord with repentance, following the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ and his apostles (1
Cor. 1:2; 2 Cor. 6:14-18).
The Head of the Church is our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and the Church makes up His body
(Ephes. 1:22, 23; Col. 1:18). It is built on the foundation set by the apostles and prophets,
whose cornerstone is Christ Himself (Ephes. 2:20). In the New Testament, it is presented as
the Temple of God (2 Cor. 6:16), a dwelling place of God through the Holy Spirit (Ephes.
2:22) and body of Christ.
Each believer, no matter the race and nationality, born again, through the Word of God and
the Holy Spirit, having the full faith given to the saints once and for all, and the same as the
apostles (John 3:5,6; Tit. 3:5,6; Ephes. 2:19-22; Jude v.3; 2 Pet. 1:1), is part of the Church,
called in the Word of God, the Church of God (1 Tim. 3:15; Acts 20:28; Mat. 18:20), the
Church of the first born whose names are written in heaven by God (Heb. 12:23).
Its mission is to spread the Word of God and the teaching of the Gospel (1Cor. 15:1-6; Mark
16:15-20).
At the same time, it represents the bride of the Lord Jesus, and the Kingdom of God (2 Cor.
11:2; Ephes. 5:25-27).
All local churches form an indestructible unity of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of God
from Romania.

15. We believe that the priesthood of the Old Establishment was replaced by the New
Establishment/Institution through the spiritual service put in order in the Church.

And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as
pastors and teachers (Ephes. 4:11).
10

The apostles are sent by God, with a special mission, such as the upturning of a new field for
the Gospel (Mark 16:15-18,20). It was so with the 12 apostles, with Paul as apostle to the
gentiles, and others (Mat. 10:1-4; Mark 6:30; Rom. 1:1; 11:13).
The service of the prophet is different than the gift of prophesying. The prophet has at least
two gifts: the gift of wisdom and the gift of speaking about knowledge.
The evangelist is called to preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus, and is accompanied by signs
and special results in his activity when sinners return to God.
The pastor is in the service of shepherding the believers what make up the local church,
according to Jesus guidance to Peter (John 21:15-17).
All servants represent one spiritual step, comprises by the term bishop, deacon and pastor as
it refers to a similar type of service (1 Pet. 5:1, 2; Acts 21:17, 28; Philip. 1:1).
From an administrative point of view, the service of the pastor is different from the one of the
bishop or deacon.
The service of a deacon came about as service focused on housekeeping (Acts 6:1-6). After a
while it also acquired a spiritual aspect (Acts 6:8-15; 1 Tim. 3:8-12). Those who have served
well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus(1 Tim.
3:13).

16. We believe in the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and in the eschatological events that
will follow.
16-A) The rapture of the Church
We believe in the rapture of the Church before the Lord Jesus Christ comes back on the
clouds in the heaven and before the great tribulation (Isa. 26:20-21; Luke 21:40-44; Luke
17:34-36; 1 Cor. 15:40-44; 1 Thess. 4:13-18). But about that day or hour no one knows, not
even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father (Mat. 24:36).
After the rapture, the judgment will take place in heaven, to reward the faithful (Rom. 14:10;
2 Cor. 5:10), followed by the wedding of the Lamb (Rev. 19:7-9).
16-B) The great tribulation and the appearance of the Antichrist
After the rapture of the Church and the departing of the Holy Spirit, which today hinder the
appearance of the man of sin - the Antichrist (2 Thess. 2:7-8) - very hard times will follow
because of him, desperate times like never before and like never again (Mat. 24:21; Rev. 6).
Its spirit already works in the world today through his disciples (1 John 2:18) and his target is
to deny the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, to completely destroy the faith in God, and in
this way to present himself as god throughthe signs and miracles he will perform (2 Thess.
2:4; 9:12; Rev. 13:13; 16:4).
The Lord Jesus came as God embodied as man, after having given His life as atoning
sacrifice for our sins, who sent His disciples to spread the Gospel. Antichrist is the false
Messiah, namely Satan embodied as man, coming in his name (John 5:43).
He already has many disciples in the world who spread disbelief, false teachings so that e has
an open way in the world (John 2:18; Luke 18:8).
After the sons of Israel recognize the delusion spread by the Antichrist, they will come back
to the true Messiah who is Jesus Christ, our Lord (Rom. 9:27-29; 11:26; Jer. 30:7).
16-C) Lord Jesus return in glory
Immediately after the distress of those days the sun will be darkened and the moon will not
give its light; the stars will fall from the sky,and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. Then will
11

appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn
when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great
glory(Mat. 24:29-30; Mark 13:24-26).
The Lord will be accompanied by tens of thousands of His saints who will stand at the right
hand of His power: the beast and the deceiving prophet will be cast away into the fiery pit
(Rev. 19:20; 2 Thess. 2:3; Jer. 23:33; Mal. 4:3; Rev. 19:21). The devil will be cast into the
depths where he will be kept chained for a thousand years (Rev. 20:1-3).

16-D) The Kingdom of God on earth or the Millennium

The kingdom of God nowadays is spiritual (Luke 17:20). It is not based on tradition or
exterior form, but consists of sanctifying the life, having peace and joy that come from the
Holy Spirit(Rom. 14:17).
In the Kingdom of God enter all those who are born again (John 3:3-6).
We wait, though, for the Kingdom of God to come down in a natural way on the earth,
dwelling here for a thousand years, according to His Word (Mat. 6:10; Rev. 20:4). The Lord
will build His Kingdom on justice and holiness, having dominion over all the earth and being
Lord of Lords and King of Kings (Rev. 11:15; 1 Cor. 15:24; Rev. 5:10, 19-16).
During the thousand year kingdom, there will be complete peace on earth because the devil
will be tied and there wont be who to deceive the nations; there will be harmony even
between beasts; cruelty wont exist (Isa. 11:1-10). The days of men will be numerous, like
the days of the trees (Isa. 65:9-25). Then the Kingdom of God will be spread all over the
earth (Rev. 11:15).
16-E) The universal resurrection and final judgment
Death is mans passing from this life into eternal life, namely, the separation of the soul and
spirit from the body. The body returns to dust, from where it was taken (Gen. 3:19), and the
soul is alive, conscious and lives in the other world together with the spirit, inseparable.
All people, without distinction, must die, because all have sinned (Rom. 5:12).
For the believers, death is a state of sleep in which they await the resurrection (1 Thess. 4:1316), a separation from the human body to be clothed with a heavenly body (2 Cor. 5:1-8),
leaving the world to be in the same place with the Lord, a place of peace, happiness and rest
(Luke 23:43; Philip. 1:23; Rev. 14:13).
The believers will show up at the decided time, at Christs judgment throne so that each one
would receive the heavenly reward from the Lords hand for all the deeds and effort put in on
earth in His service (2 Cor. 5:10; Rom. 14:10-12).
The death of the unbelievers is an act accompanied by horror, terrible fear and excruciating
remorse. Their soul goes in place of torment, awaiting the terrible day of final judgment (Jude
7). After the thousand year kingdom, Satan will be untied for a little time when he will
deceive the nations (Gog and Magog), to make war against the saints. But fire came down
from heaven and devoured them (Rev. 20:7-10).
After this, all those who did not take part in the first resurrection, will be resurrected (Rev.
20:5). The seas will bring forth the dead that were in it, in the same way that death and its
dwelling place will bring out their dead (Rev. 20:13, 14), and all will go to the judgment at
the White Throne (Rev. 20:11, 12). Each one will be judged according to his deeds and to the
knowledge he had (Rev. 20:12; Rom. 2:12). Those who are not found written into the book of
life will be thrown in the pit of fire (Mat. 25:32-46; Rev. 20:15).
16-F) The new heaven and the new earth. Eternal life

12

Eternal life is of divine origin and it is a gift of God (Rom. 6:23; Heb 7:16). It is promised to
the faithful (1 John 2:25; 2 Tim. 1:1); it is obtained from God through the faith in Jesus Christ
(1 John 5:11; John 3:15), because He Himself is eternal life (1 John 5:20).
To obtain eternal life we must fight, persevering in good deeds (Rom. 2:7), because we are
called to it (1 Tim. 6:12). It is a right to inheritance for the next age (Mark 10:30), it is also
called the life to come (1 Tim. 4:8) and in it will enter only the righteous who fought
faithfully on earth, enduring temptations. They will receive the crown of life at the decided
time (1 Tim. 6:12).
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had
passed away, and there was no longer any sea.I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem,
coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her
husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, Look! Gods dwelling place is
now among the people and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself
will be with them and be their God.He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no
more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed
away(Rev. 21:1-4).

WHAT DO WE PRACTICE?
IN THE DAY-TO-DAY LIFE

1. SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINE

Spiritual discipline requires practices such as prayer, worship, adoration, confession, fasting,
meditation and study. Through prayer, we experience and build up our trust in God and we
admit our total dependence on Him for both our own needs as well as for the needs of others
(Mat. 6:5-15; Luke 11:1-13; James 5:13-18).
Through our personal and public worship, we bless God by having fellowship with Him and
we are blessed daily with spiritual riches and growth in Christ. Through regular fasting we
get closer to God, submitting ourselves to the control of the Holy Spirit in all of our activities
(Mat. 6:16-18; 9:14-17; Acts 14:23).
Through confessing our sins to God we are assured of Divine forgiveness (1 John 1:9-10; 2:12).
Through meditation and study of the Word we increase our spiritual growth and we prepare
ourselves to help others understand the truths of the Bible (Josh. 1:8; Ps. 1:2; 2 Tim. 2:15).

2. MORAL PURITY
2-A) Glorifying God in our bodies
According to the Scriptures, our body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit and we are to glorify
God in our bodies (Rom. 12:1-2; 1 Cor. 6:19-20; 10:31).
Accepting or living in sins such as drunkenness, murder, theft, witchcraft, adultery,
homosexuality, hate, envy, jealousy, slander, anger, filthy talk, and behaviors that dont
glorify God, is forbidden (Rom. 1:24; 1 Cor. 6:9-10; Gal. 5:19-20).
2-B) Reading, watching, listening
Our senses, mind and behavior are deeply affected by the literature we read, the shows we
watch and the music we listen to. A Christian should not be tempted to look at or watch
shows that would dishearten him (Rom. 13:14; Philip. 4:8). Because of this, a believer should
read, watch and listen to those things that inspire and instruct the human being to a higher
level of spiritual and moral life.
2-C) The spiritual benefit and wellbeing
In his free time, a believer should engage in those activities that build himself and the Body
of Christ alike (Rom. 6:13; 1 Cor. 10:31-32).
In saying this, we have the conviction that it is good for a believer to avoid certain places,
activities and practices, especially those that appeal to the flesh, and as a result, compromise
the Christian testimony (2 Cor. 6:17; 1Thes. 5:21-22; 1John 2:15-17).

3. PERSONAL INTEGRITY

14

A Christian must be a trustworthy person and at the same time one that will keep a promise
(Mat. 5:37; 1Peter 2:11-12).
Through His teachings and life example, Christ showed us that we are to love our enemies,
honor our brothers and live in such a way that others might be encouraged to come to Him by
watching our way of living (Mat. 5:43-48; Rom. 12:10; 1John 3:16; Mat. 5:16; 1 Cor. 11:1).
Any misbehavior in our lives will be judged by all who watch us (Mat. 7:16-20; Luke 13:6-9;
John 15:1-8).
In His relationship with other people, Jesus displayed acceptance, compassion and
forgiveness (John 8:11; Mat. 9:36; Mark 6:34; Luke 5:20).

4. TEMPERATE BEHAVIOR

Moderation or self-control must be one of the main virtues of any Christian (1 Cor. 9:25; Tit.
1:8; 2:2). It is part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit in the believers life (Gal. 5:22-23). The Holy
Scriptures teach us that all of our actions and activity must be submitted to the control of the
Spirit (Philip. 4:5-8; Ephes. 4:26-29). Practicing self-discipline reflects Gods power in our
life (1 Cor. 9:27; 2 Pet. 1:5-11).
The Bible teaches us that we have to be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, thus
showing our love to them (Mat. 22; 39; Rom. 12:9-21; 13:10; Philip. 2:3-5).We must
continuously control our behavior so that we do not offend anybody (Rom. 14:13-21; 1 Cor.
8:9-13). Tolerance and respect must be characteristics in our relationships (Rom. 14:2-3; 1
Cor. 8:8; Ephes. 4:2; Col. 3:13; 1 Tim. 4:1-5).
One of the primary advantages of our freedom in Christ is that we are freed from the negative
forces (John 8:32-36; Rom. 6:14; 8:2). We are advised not to submit again to slavery (Gal.
5:1).
A Christian must refrain from any thing or any activity that could defile the body, which is
the Temple of The Holy Spirit, or which could prevail over and enslave the soul that was
made free in Christ (Prov. 20:1; Isa. 28:7; 1 Cor. 3:17; 5:11; 2 Cor. 7:1; James 1:21).

5. MODEST APPEARANCE

According to biblical concepts, modesty is an inner spiritual virtue that loathes anything that
is filthy and inappropriate, insures control over the mind, manifests itself in conduct,
especially in behavior and clothing (Ephes. 4:25,29,31,32; 1 Tim. 2:9-10). Modesty is about
anything visible in our appearance, garments, talk, behavior, and can be applied in all
situations.
Our life, character and personal image are reflected in the way we behave and clothe. The
Scriptural advice in this matter is clear: clothing must be modest and decent (Rom. 12:2; 1
Thess. 5:22-23; 1 Pet. 3:3-4). As newborn Christians we ought to fight against the desires of
the flesh and avoid an immoral lifestyle (Gal. 5:13-21; 1 Pet. 2:11; 2 Pet.1:4). The beauty of a
Christian is not reflected by our extravagant clothing, wearing of jewelry or make-up, but is
seen in our relationship with Christ (James 2:1-4).

6. FAMILY RESPONSIBILITY
15

The family, as the basis of human relationships, is a fundamental institution for society and
the Church (Gen. 2:18-24). It is of Divine origin, having been established by God. Our
families should establish various kinds of family devotion andstrive to live in and maintain a
Christian environmentwithin the framework of the family (1Tim. 3:3-4; 5:8). Applying
Christian disciplines and virtues must start within the family (Deut. 6:6-7).
Marriage is established by God, and it is a spiritual unity in which a man and a woman are
united by God to live together as one (Gen. 2:24; Mark 10:7). Because of its Divine character,
marriage is a lifetime commitment. The Bible has clear statements and reasons against
divorce (Mat.5:32; 19:9). Sexual involvement before marriage, with the future partner or a
different person, is strictly forbidden by the Scripture (Exod. 20:14; 1 Cor. 6:15-18).
Understanding the sanctity of marriage, the two partners will strive to maintain their bond
happy, harmonious and holy. If the two will seek divorce, the Church will have to intervene
quickly to show love, understanding and counsel in order to avoid divorce (Mat 19:7-9; Mark
10:2-12; Rom. 7:2-3; 1 Cor. 7:2,5,10,11).
In His design, God had established the man as the head of the family, the wife being given to
him as suitable helper, and together they are to raise and educate their children who have to
obey and respect their parents (Gen. 1:27-28; 1 Cor. 11:3; 1 Pet. 3:7). To achieve and
maintain harmony in the family, the structure of each persons responsibilities, created by
God, must be respected (Ephes. 5:22-31; Col. 3:18-20; Ephes. 6:1-4; Exod. 20:12).

7. SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT
7-A) Being good citizens
The teaching of the Holy Scriptures as well as our obedience toward God compels us to
behave responsibly as role-model citizens of the country in which we live (Mark 12:13-15,
17; Rom. 13:1-7; 1 Pet. 2:13-17).
We submit to civic law and order, we support our leaders with respect, praying for them,
participating in public schools, exercising our right to vote, etc. Gods law is supreme, and we
respect the local laws until they run counter to the laws of God (Acts 5:29).
7-B) Correcting social injustice
The love for others and the acknowledgement of equality of all people before God compels us
to help and protect the deprived, hungry, unprivileged, persecuted, oppressed, etc. (Acts
10:34; 17:26; Mat. 22:39; Rom.13:8-10).
In all our behavior and activities, we must be receptive to peoples needs and oppose racial
and economic discrimination. Each member is free to participate and worship in Church,
regardless of race, color, gender, social or professional status (Luke 10:30-37; John 1:17).
7-C) Protecting the sanctity of life
Before God, we are responsible for our own physical life and for the others around us.
Because God is the only Creator of life, it is only Hewhocan decide when to end it (Ps. 31:14;
Exod. 20:13; Eccle. 8:8). We firmly believe that the abandoning of the elderly, demented,
terminally ill and handicapped, for personal reasons, social agreements or financial gain, is
sin. Moreover, we believe it is our responsibility as Christians to protect the earth and its
resources (Gen. 1:26-29).

16

8. IN CHURCH:
8-A) Baptism with water (Mat. 28:19; Mark 1:9-10; Acts 8:36-38, John 3:22)
Anybody that believes the Gospel follows this biblical command, asking to be baptized with
water. It is done in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, by one single
submersion under water (Mat. 28:19; Mark 16:16; Rom. 6:3-4; Acts 10:47).
The doctrine of the Pentecostal Church does not teach or encourage baptism of children.
Young children are brought to Church so that Gods blessing is invoked over them (Mark
10:13-16). The baptism was commanded by Jesus (Mat. 28:19). He Himself was baptized
(Mat. 3:13-16).
God confirmed Jesus baptism (Luke 3:22) and the disciples practiced it and taught it (Acts
2:38-41; 16:33; 19:1-6).
8-B) Communion (Mat. 26:26-29; 1 Cor. 11:23-26)
Communion represents the new covenant in the Lord Jesus sacrifice, offered for the whole
mankind. Those that participate in this act know that their worth is in Jesus sacrifice, and
that they are required to self-examine prior to partaking. The communion can be celebrated
anytime possible, regardless of dates (1 Cor. 11:23-26).
8-C) Washing of feet(John 13:4-17; 1 Tim. 5:9-10)
After the Communion, Jesus washed the disciples feet. This is not only a tradition in Israel,
but a deed that must be done with humility and brotherly love, being aware that it is an act of
servitude (John 13:1-17; Acts 2:42; 1Timothy 5:10).

9. GIVING

Based on the Bible teaching, we are not owners, but Gods administrators (Ps. 24:1; 1 Cor.
6:19-20). Generosity is an absolutely normal reaction toward Gods love. It is a biblical
concept based on which each believer must support the church and the work of God (1 Cor.
16:1; Heb. 7:4-10). The examples we have, from even before the Law of the Old Testament
(Gen. 14:20), during the Old Testament (Mal. 3:8-10) andJesus very own example (Mat.
23:23) are enough for those who obey. The teachings of the New Testament show clearly that
we belong to God with all we have and His true children gave at least 10% of their income
(Gal. 6:6-8; 1 Cor. 16:2; 2Cor. 8:1-8; 9:7; Acts 20:35; Luke 6:38). Generosity does not
replace the fruit of the Spirit, but it is an evidence of spiritual maturity and a stream of
blessings for the faithful.

10. MARRIAGE AND REMARRIAGE(Mat. 19:7-9; Mark 10:11-12; Luke 16:18; 1 Cor. 7:2, 1011)

Marriage is instituted by God and it is the covenant between a man and a woman. Through
marriage the two become one, and they have the duty to help and love each other. According
to the Scriptures, everyone is free to choose their future partner, with one condition: that it is
done in the Lord (1 Cor. 7:38-39).
The wedding is officiated in church, only after the civil marriage took place. The following
are not condoned: the marriage between a believer and an unbeliever, cohabitation,
17

debauchery, unrighteousness, abortion, prostitution, homosexuality and lesbianism (Rom.

1:22-32; 2 Cor. 6:14). Marriage can only be dissolved if one of the partners is proved guilty
of committing adultery (Mat. 19:1-12) or when one partner dies. The Lord God hates
separation (Gen. 2:18-24; Heb. 13:4; Rom. 7:1-3; 1 Cor. 6:18).
10-A) Child dedication
The children of the believers are holy (1 Cor. 7:14). Nevertheless, they will be brought to
church for dedication, where, following the example Jesus gave (Mat. 19:13-15; Mark 10:1316), they will be held in arms, or will have hands laying on the head for older children, while
the dedication passage from Numbers 6:24-27 will be read aloud, inserting the childs name
in the text. A short prayer for the child and family follows.
10-B) Funeral service
We believe that our brothers that had lived a righteous life, once they get to heaven will be
rewarded by our Lord (Mat. 25:46; John 10:28; Rom. 6:22; 1John 5:11-13).
Together with the family, we organize two viewing services as well as the plus the funeral
service during which the Word of the Lord is proclaimed and the family is comforted.

11. PRAYER FOR THE SICK AND ANNOINTING WITH OIL

It is a ministry ordered by the Lord Jesus and the apostles (Mark 6:12-13; Jacob 5:14-15).
The Bible teaches us that sickness is caused by the fact that sin entered into the world and it is
possible that, even if the sick person didnt sin, the sickness to be the result of the fall of the
first man. For those that believe, healing is part of the same plan of salvation, just like the
forgiveness of sins. That is why the Bible states that, in case of sickness, the sick person is to
call the elders of the church to pray for him/her, anointing them with oil in the name of the
Lord. This does not replace science or medicine (Mat. 8:16-17; Mark 2:15-17, 18; Isa. 38:21).

The reason for sickness: 1) sin; 2) Satans attack; 3) breaking natural laws; 4) Gods
punishment; 5) old age

Ways of healing: 1) natural: with our contribution through treatment, rest (but healing comes
only from God); 2) supernatural: healing as Gods intervention as a result of prayer.

12. SUNDAY THE LORDS DAY

On this day, every believer should participate in the local church service to be spiritually for
spiritual growth. As the Old Testament things were a shadow of the things to come and
were to be included in the person and the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ, so does the
Sabbath (Ezra 20:12) point to the rest that is received through faith in the Lord Jesus. On
Sunday, Jesus rose from the dead and the first church gathered for fellowship (John20:19-26;
Acts 2:1; 1 Cor. 9:27; Heb. 4:1).
