Why you Want to Attend

Kings Academy has a reputation as an excellent school, and

is known for its excelling students and its cultural diversity. I
have two cousins that used to attend my current school and
they have both moved to Kings Academy. Talking to my
younger cousin about the AP academic system has made me
very interested in attending Kings.
Being that it is an American American system, and I am
planning to go to a university in the United States, would
make an easier transition for me. I have participated in
summer camps in the US for the past two years, and talking
to US students has further increased my interest in American
education.
Another important thing is that I anticipate meeting students
of different cultures and nationalities. As I have been
exposed to other nationalities in a leadership summer
program in the US, this has made me more eager to meet
and study with people from different countries.
I also like the fact that the co-curricular programs are
mandatory, as the students have a chance to explore and
discover different aspects that they enjoy and do well at
other than academics.
Favorite Subjects
History- I enjoy learning about the history and significant
characters of many different, international places. In addition
to how history has affected what we are today and what we
do.
Science (biology)- The study of living organisms and their
structures interests me; it is fascinating how the smallest
changes in DNA can have a big impact on the living
organism, I find it very integrative.

English- I enjoy writing, especially in English. It is a way of

expression thoughts and feelings, and also one can write
about imaginary situations.

Sports
I do horseback riding and equestrian activities, I play the
piano, and I am on my schools volleyball team. I have just
signed up for the MUN activity at my school.
What do I like about myself
I think that I am very organized, I always hand in my tasks on
time, and I manage my time for studying well; in order of
priority. Most of my classmates describe me as very
organized. Also, I feel that I am resourceful and creative; I
always come up with inspiring unique and innovative ideas.
However, one of my weaknesses is that I feel that I am too
independent sometimes, and unable to work in a group
unless having to be the leader or ending up doing most of the
work.
Challenges
I face the challenge of going horseback riding as much as I
would like, as between studying and piano I am very stressed
and cannot find time to go horseback riding often.
Favorite Teacher
My favorite teacher would describe me as creative,
intelligent, caring and independent. This teacher was my
previous English teacher.
My least favorite teacher (my current math teacher) would
describe me as an excellent, well-mannered, and an

organized student. Even that math is not my favorite subject,

I give it the time it needs because I am committed.
Contributing to Kings
I believe that I will continue to be an excellent student
striving in academics. My English writing skills will be an
addition to any writing clubs the school has. In my past
leadership skills summer camp in the US, my instructor chose
me to represent a group of 12 American girls and write on
their behalf even though I am not a native speaker of English
On co-curricular programs, I feel that with my presence, the
riding team will improve, as I am very fond of the activity and
have been doing it for seven years. I have also attended an
equestrian program in the US which taught me a lot which I
can bring to Kings Academy.
Characteristics in a Classmate
I value many characteristics in several different classmates.
If I were to list them, they would be creativity, responsibility,
precision, and organization. I value creativity because one of
my friends does really artistic, unique, inspiring presentations
for school projects which motivate me to become more
creative with school projects and assignments. Also, most of
my classmates are perfectionists with most of the work which
has influenced me to become more exact and precise with
my work. Responsibility and organization are also two
characteristics that I value in my classmates because they
are very important in excelling in academics and after school
activities.
Extra Curricular Activities
1. Horseback riding: I began riding in the stables I was
taken to when I was little. I immediately fell in love with
the sport. I then developed my skills and moved to
another place where I had my own mare. I used to go to
ride three times a week. Then we moved our horses to a
farm nearby and I went there almost every day. Ever

since, horseback riding has been my passion. I enjoy it

very much, and I enjoy being with the horses because I
love animals. This past summer, I went to an equestrian
camp in a boarding school in Connecticut where I
developed my skills in horseback riding and horse care.
There, I also discovered that I enjoy riding with other
people. Now, I am very busy with my studies and I
cannot find enough time to go riding daily, so I only go
on the weekends.
2. Piano: I was always interested in music when I was little.
I wanted to find an instrument that I enjoyed playing. I
was fascinated by the sounds that came from the piano
when my family and I were sitting in a hotel lounge one
time. I asked the lady who was playing if she gave
lessons, and was satisfied by the answer of yes. I took a
few trial classes before I decided that I wanted to
continue with the instrument. I still take classes with
that teacher and have reached Grade 7. My piano
teacher told me that I have an absolute pitch, which is
the ability to identify notes that I hear on the piano.
Currently, I consider piano a school subject as I have
reached a point where it requires as much time and
effort. At times, it is stressful as I have trouble
managing between my piano and school, though I still
enjoy it.
3. Volleyball: Volleyball is a sport of much interest to me, I
am part of the volleyball team in my school. I enjoy
playing volleyball and going to the practices because I
get along well with my teammates. Our volleyball team
has succeeded in many tournaments this semester.
4. MUN: MUN is one of the after-school activities in my
school. I signed up for it recently, and we are currently
being trained. I began doing MUN because I enjoy
research and debates. I also enjoy gaining knowledge
about different countries and cultures around the world.

Undeveloped Land
If I were to decide what would become of the undeveloped
land on Kings campus, I would use the land to make an
equestrian facility with stables for the riding team. I think
that this is a good idea because I was told that Kings riding
team goes somewhere else to ride. This is inconvenient and
tiring for the riders to go to public stables every time the
activity takes place. Therefore, I plan on developing stables
for the riding team where the school would have its own
horses, providing them with all their needs, as well as
students horses which will be possible for them to keep there
and ride. If some students decide to move their horses to the
schools stables, they can directly care for their horses and
the costs they are currently paying at the other places can be
paid to the schools facility to help with the expenses.
