referred to as 'smartphones' in the manual.

Before starting
Flight Plan is available for iOS and AndroidTM devices.
Flight Plan is compatible with:
the Parrot Bebop Drone from firmware version 2.0.57 and above,
the FreeFlight 3 app from the iOS: 3.7.11, Android 3.7.12 and above.
To display the Parrot Bebop Drone and FreeFlight 3 versions:
1. Connect the Parrot Bebop Drone to your smartphone. For further information refer
to the Parrot Bebop Drone user guide.
2. Launch FreeFlight 3.
3. Press Start >

4. Scroll through the pages until you reach the Information screen.
To update the firmware version of your Parrot Bebop Drone please refer to the Parrot
Bebop Drone web page and select the Software update section.

Installing Flight Plan


Flight Plan is available on the App StoreSM or Google PlayTM as a FreeFlight 3 in app
purchase.
You can download Flight Plan:
when you download FreeFlight 3. For further information refer to the "Downloading
the application" section of the Parrot Bebop Drone user guide,
from FreeFlight 3. To do so launch FreeFlight 3 and select Flight Plan.

Preflight checklist
Prior to piloting your Parrot Bebop Drone please read the following guidelines and
suggestions:
Regulation
Make sure that you have authorization to pilot the Parrot Bebop Drone in the area
you intend to fly. In some areas flying a drone is not permitted such as military
bases, parks, cities and airports.

Before starting

Check local regulations prior to flying. If you are required to keep visual contact with
your drone, make sure your Flight Plan will not take your drone out of line of sight.
Check local regulations regarding Wi-Fi and Wireless networks.
Check local regulations regarding video recording, storage and use.
Local regulation may require a license or specific documents in order to pilot the
Parrot Bebop Drone.
Flight conditions check
Do not pilot the Parrot Bebop Drone at night.
Check weather conditions. Do not pilot the Parrot Bebop Drone whilst it is raining,
snowing or in a foggy environment.
Do not pilot the Parrot Bebop Drone if the wind speed exceeds 40 km/h (25 mph).
Parrot Bebop Drone pre-flight check
Check each propeller and confirm it is correctly and securely installed.
Check the battery, making sure it is correctly installed to the Parrot Bebop Drone.
Make sure both your Parrot Bebop Drone 's battery and your smartphone battery are
fully charged.
Check the Wi-Fi connection between the Parrot Bebop Drone and your
smartphone.
Calibrate the Parrot Bebop Drone. For further information, please check the full
User Guide of the Parrot Bebop Drone.
Ensure you had a valid GPS signal before taking off. The GPS icon must be green

Before starting

Composing a Flight Plan


If the total duration of your Flight Plan exceeds the battery life of the Parrot Bebop
Drone your Parrot Bebop Drone will land before the Flight Plan is completed. The
battery life of the Parrot Bebop Drone lasts 11 min approximately. The timeline displays
the duration of each section including total timeline.

Launching Flight Plan


1. Launch FreeFlight 3.
2. Press Flight Plan.

> The map appears. (internet access required)

Creating a route
An internet connection is required to display the map. If your Flight Plan is located on
an area without internet connection, create and save your Flight Plan beforehand.
Ensure that the route of your Flight Plan is located in an unobstructed area.
Pinch the screen with two fingers to zoom in & out.

To move the map, slide your fingers on the screen.


To display a 3D view of the Flight Plan, slide two fingers upwards.

> The buttons disappear. To display the buttons again, slide two fingers downwards.

To center the map on your position press

Changing map mode


To switch the map mode press the button

then select:

Satellite

The satellite image appears.

Map

The street name appears.

Hybrid

The satellite image appears with map indications.

Inserting waypoints
Tap on the map to create a waypoint.

Next to the first waypoint you will see a "1" displayed


Subsequent waypoints will follow on in order "2,3,4,..."

A line appears automatically between two consecutive waypoints.

To cancel the last action press

To optimize video feedback leave at least 5 meters between each waypoint.

Fly the Parrot Bebop Drone towards the first waypoint


Unlock mode
1. Make a long press on your Flight Plan.
2. Press CLOSE.
> A line appears between the first and the last waypoints.
The first waypoint turns into the opposite icon.
To delete the line between the first and the last waypoint:
1. Make a long press on your Flight Plan.
2. Press OPEN.

Moving a waypoint
Press and hold the waypoint to change its location.
For smoother video, leave at last 5m between each waypoint.

Changing the altitude of a waypoint


The altitude is indicated in the center of each waypoint (in meters). The default
altitude is 3 m above ground. The maximum altitude is 150 m.
Select the waypoint you want to change, using the bar along the right side of the screen
edit the waypoints altitude.
You can also do this by holding down on the waypoint and selecting "Edit".
The colour of the waypoint changes depending on the height. This goes from Green to
Red where bright Red is 150m high.

1. Press the waypoint.
2. Slide the button upwards or downwards to increase or
decrease the altitude.

Changing the altitude with the contextual menu


The contextual menu allows you to set the altitude with precision.
1. Hold down on the waypoint.
2. Press EDIT.
3. Press the altitude value.
4. Enter the new altitude value.
5. Press OK.

Inserting a waypoint in a line


1. Press and hold on the line at the point where you want to insert the waypoint.
2. Press INSERT.

Deleting a waypoint
1. Press and hold the waypoint.
2. Press DELETE.

Changing the speed of the Parrot Bebop Drone between waypoints


You can set the speed of each line indicated in meters per second this speed will remain
constant until the next waypoint.
The minimum speed is 1 m/s. The maximum speed is 10 m/s.
Selecting a slower speed will give you the best video feedback if direction changes are
important.

Changing the speed with the horizontal slider


1. Press the line between two waypoints.
> The speed appears.
2. Slide the button to the left or right to
decrease or increase the speed.

Changing the speed within the contextual menu


The contextual menu enables you to set the speed of the Parrot Bebop Drone with
precision.
1. Hold down the waypoint.
2. Press EDIT.
3. Press the speed value.
4. Enter the new speed value.
5. Press OK.

Changing the direction of the Parrot Bebop Drone camera


By default the Parrot Bebop Drone's camera is facing in
the direction of travel.
To adjust this slide the tip of the arrow on the waypoint
towards the direction you would like the camera to
face.
> When the Parrot Bebop Drone reaches the waypoint
it will turn its camera in this direction. The Parrot Bebop
Drone will keep this direction until it reaches the next
waypoint.

Adding actions
You can add specific actions to your Flight Plan.
To do so, press

> The scenario mode screen appears.

The timeline displays the duration of each section (in seconds).

Adding and deleting actions


Select the desired action from the top row and drag it into the timeline. You can plan an
action on a waypoint or during a section.
You can plan several actions simultaneously.

The Parrot Bebop Drone takes off automatically when you

action at the beginning of the Flight Plan. You can add others
during your flight plan if desired.
You can plan a landing action at any time during the Flight
Plan. To make the Parrot Bebop Drone take off again, plan a
take off action. If you want to land the Parrot Bebop Drone at

the end of the Flight Plan, plan a landing action.


A landing action is planned by default at the end of each
Flight Plan. If you delete this action the Parrot Bebop Drone
will hover at the altitude of the last waypoint.
You can plan a panorama action on a waypoint only.

Panorama

The panorama action enables you to make the Parrot Bebop


Drone rotate on its axis to the left.
The tilt action enables you to set the tilt angle of the Parrot
Bebop Drone camera.
You can plan a tilt action on a waypoint only.

Tilt

Once the Parrot Bebop Drone reaches the tilt action the
camera will keep the tilt angle during the whole Flight Plan.
To change the tilt angle again you must plan another tilt
action.

Editing an actions
You can change the settings within:
pictures,
pause,
panorama,
tilt.
To edit an action press the corresponding action within the timeline.
> A pop-up appears.

Pictures
Select a picture format:
RAW/DNG (High resolution fisheye pictures),
JPEG,
Snapshot,
JPEG 180 (fisheye picture).
The default format is DNG.
Tap on the interval value to change it (in seconds).
By default, the interval is 10 s.

Pause
Tap on the duration value to change it (in seconds).
The default duration is 10 s. The maximum duration is 600 s.
You can plan several consecutive pause actions.

Panorama
Tap on the rotation angle value to change it (in degrees). To make the Parrot Bebop
Drone rotate to the right, enter a negative value.
The default angle is 360= one full revolution to the left. The minimum angle is -3600.
The maximum angle is 3600. In both cases the Parrot Bebop Drone will perform 10
rotations on its axis in the desired direction.
Tap on the rotation speed value to change it (in degrees per second).
The default rotation speed is 30/s. The minimum rotation speed is 5/s. The maximum
rotation speed is 180/s.
For the best video quality we recommend you keep the rotation speed low.

Camera Tilt
Tap on the tilt angle value to change it (in degrees).
The default angle is null. The minimum angle is -60. The maximum angle is 60.
Tap on the tilt speed value to change it (in degrees per second).
The default tilt speed is 30/s. The minimum tilt speed is 5/s. The maximum tilt speed
is 180/s.

1. Press the desired action icon along the top row,
> A pop-up appears.
2. Enter the default values you want to apply to the action.

Opening a Flight Plan
Opening a new Flight Plan
Launch Flight Plan.
> The map appears.
If you are using Flight Plan for the first time create your first Flight Plan directly.
If you have already used Flight Plan the last Flight Plan you used appears. To open a
new Flight Plan, press

> New.

If you have not saved the last Flight Plan you used, a pop-up asks whether you want to
save it. If you press "No" the last Flight Plan will be lost.

Opening a saved Flight Plan


1. Launch Flight Plan.
2. Press

> The preview of saved Flight Plans appears.


3. Select the Flight Plan you want to open.
4. Press Open.

Saving a Flight Plan


To save the modifications of a Flight Plan already saved, press

> Save.

To save a new Flight Plan:


1. Press

2. Press Save as.


> A pop-up appears.
3. Name your Flight Plan.
4. Press Save.

Performing a Flight Plan


Before performing a Flight Plan ensure that the path of the Flight Plan is clear of any
obstacles.
The flight settings you applied in FreeFlight 3 (speed, distance, default modes)are
deactivated in Flight Plan.
1. Connect your Parrot Bebop Drone to FreeFlight 3. For further information, see the
Parrot Bebop Drone user guide.
2. Wait until the GPS icon of the Parrot Bebop Drone turns green .
3. Open the Flight Plan you want to perform. You can perform:
a saved Flight Plan. For further information, see Managing Flight Plans > Opening
a Flight Plan,
the Flight Plan in progress.
4. Press .
> If the Parrot Bebop Drone is already flying it will fly towards the first waypoint. If
the Parrot Bebop Drone is grounded it will take off and fly towards the first
waypoint.
If the Wi-Fi connection between your smartphone and the Parrot Bebop Drone is lost
the Parrot Bebop Drone carries on the Flight Plan. If the Parrot Bebop Drone GPS is lost
the Parrot Bebop Drone stops and hovers until the GPS signal is reestablished.

Display modes
While the Parrot Bebop Drone performs the Flight Plan you can display the following on
your smartphone as the main screen:
the Flight Plan display: the

icon follows the position of the Parrot Bebop Drone,

the camera display: the video feed of the Parrot Bebop Drone camera appears.
To switch modes press the minimized window of the camera display or the Flight Plan
display.
In case of an alert the minimized window of the camera display is framed in red when
the Flight Plan display is activated. Press the minimized window to display the alert
message.

Stopping the Flight Plan in progress


To pause the Parrot Bebop Drone during a Flight Plan press

. To resume the Flight

Plan press . The Parrot Bebop Drone will continue towards the next waypoint.
To stop the Parrot Bebop Drone during a Flight Plan press

. To start the Flight Plan

again press . The Parrot Bebop Drone will fly towards the first waypoint and start the
Flight Plan again.

Regaining control over the Parrot Bebop Drone


At any time during the Flight Plan you can regain control over the Parrot Bebop Drone
and activate the return home function and emergency button .
If you use a Parrot Skycontroller :
Directly pilot the Parrot Bebop Drone with the Parrot Skycontroller joysticks. You can
also activate the RTH and emergency buttons.
For further information, see the "Piloting" section of the Parrot Skycontroller user
guide.
If you do not use a Parrot Skycontroller :
1. Display the camera mode as the main screen.
>The joysticks appear.
2. Pilot the Parrot Bebop Drone normally. For further information, see the "Piloting"
section of the Parrot Bebop Drone user guide.
To resume the Flight Plan:
1. Press the minimized window of the Flight Plan display.
2. Press

> The Parrot Bebop Drone flies towards the next waypoint.
