Mudras or Mudra Therapy is a non-medical and simple way of


treatment.Mudras are very easy to practice anyone can practice it
anywhere and anytime. Mudras have tremendous healing power.

Here we are discussing ten important hand mudras which will give
you complete health. Gyan mudra, Vaayu mudra, Aakash mudra, Shoonya
mudra, Prithvi mudra, Surya mudra, Varun mudra, Jal-shaamak mudra,
Apana mudra and mritasanjeevani mudra are the most important and
fundamental mudras. These mudras are very effective to give
you complete health.

1. Gyan mudra

It is also called as Gnan, Dhyana, meditation Mudra and Vayu-vardhak


mudra. This mudra is formed by joining the tip of the index finger and
thumb finger.This mudra helps to increase Vayu element within the body.

Gyan mudra is helpful in the treatment of dullness of mind or depression,


lack of enthusiasm, recklessness, loss of memory, drowsiness, lethargy,
mental retardation,
All the disorders of the nervous system, cerebral palsy, neuritis,
neuropathies, Alzheimers disease, tabes dorsalis, multiple sclerosis, motor
neurone disease, Ataxia, Dementias, Syringomyelia.

2.Vaayu mudra

This mudra also called as Vaayu shaamak mudra. This mudra is formed by
placing the tip of the index finger at the base of thumbfinger and applying
gentle pressure.
This mudra is useful in the treatment of stress, anxiety, irritability, lack of
concentration, timidity, indecisiveness, impatience, restlessness,

sleeplessness, epileptic fits, giddiness, Parkinsons disease, chorea,


tremors, sciatica, trigeminal neuralgia, intercostal neuralgia.
Hormonal imbalances, twitching of eyelids, nystagmus, tinnitus, vertigo,
dizziness, breathlessness, tachycardia, palpitations. Hiccups, muscle
spasm, muscle cramps, muscular rigidity.
Cracking joints, osteoarthritis, gout, dry skin, rough skin, dry hair, rough

3.Aakash mudra

It is also called as Aakash var dhak mudra. This mudra is formed by joining
the tip of the middle finger to the tip of the Thumb finger.
This mudra is helpful to increase space or Aakash element within the body.
This Mudra is beneficial in the treatment of high blood pressure, irregular
heartbeats, angina pectoris, sinus, asthma, migraine, and headache.

4.Shoonya mudra

This mudra also called as Aakash shaamak mudra. This mudra helps to
decrease space element within the body. Shoonya mudra is formed y just
placing the tip of the middle finger at the base ofthumb finger and
applying gentle pressure.

emptiness or numbness in the body or body parts like head, chest or

5.Prithvi mudra

It is also called as Prithvi-var dhak mudra. This mudra is helpful to increase

debility, convalescence, lack of stamina or endurance.

6.Surya mudra

It is also called as Prithvi shaamak mudra or Agni vardhak mudra. This


mudra is helpful to decrease the earth element within the body. This
mudra is formed by just placing the tip of the ring finger on the base of
the thumb finger.
This mudra is helpful in the treatment of low body temperature, the
coldness of skin, body, limbs, hands and feet.

7.Varun mudra

It is also called as a jal-vardhak mudra. This mudra is helpful to increase


the water element within the body.
This Mudra is beneficial in the treatment of dryness of eyes, dryness of
digestive tract, indigestion and constipation.
Dryness of the skin leading to cracks, dry eczema, psoriasis, degeneration
of joint cartilage, cramps, dehydration.

8.Jal-shaamak mudra

This mudra is formed by just placing the tip of the little finger at the base

excessive salivation, watery eyes, running nose, hyperacidity, diarrhoea,
pleural effusion and effusion in a joint.

9.Apana Mudra

10.Apana Vayu Mudra

This mudra is also called as a mritasanjeevani mudra. This mudra is


formed by joining the tip of the thumb, middle and ring finger and placing
the tip of the index finger to the base of the thumb.

angina, high blood pressure, all the painful conditions, excessive sweating
