your studies. You have wanted to know about the swine flu. Well, here it is. Swine flu, a
foreign disease is caused by a special type of virus called HINI, which comes from
specially swine body to human body. Millions of people died all over the world and in
India 1100 and two death reports from Kolkata. So, WHO has given pandemic alert to all
most all the countries of the world against H 1N1. High temperature, coughing, sneezing
are the symptoms of it. It spreads like common influenza so one should wear facemask
before coming to contract with the patient of swine flu. I hope this will convince you of
the swine flu. You follow the basics to keep yourself awayfrom this dreadful disease.

My dear Atiyar,
Your sweet note has anchored in the shore of my heart. I am very glad to learn from your
letter that you have done well in your examination. You have wanted to know about the
150th birthday ceremony of Rabindranath Tagore in our school.

This year is very special for every one of us because in this year one observed 150th
birthday of the great poet Rabindra Joyanti in our school. And this year, we observed it
with our teacher on a grand scale. On this day a cultural programme was arranged in our
school at morning 8 a.m. The school campus was nicely decorated and we set up a large
photograph. The function was presided over by the S.D.O of katwa subdivision,
Deviprasad Karonam. The principal of Katwa College delivered the inaugural speech and
the function began with a melodious Rabindra Sangeet. After that our headmaster said
something about this great poet which we did not know before that. We performed a
drama Dakghar. The guest and the president stressed upon the versatility of Tagore his
literary genius, love of humanity, idea on social and educational reforms. Thus, we tried
to pay tribute to this great poet.

Global Warming

Today the world is facing a serious challenge against global warming. Global worming
means the gradual worming of the earths surface owing to green house effect. Rapid
industrialization and deforestation are the root the problem. Besides, space-crafts are
being launched by different countries. The cause of global warming is the thinning of
Ozone layer over the atmosphere that limits the greenhouse emissions and the earth cool
and congenial. Now global warming affects our environment and that is why our
environmentalist repeatedly warns us about the global warming. The glaciers in the
Himalayas are melting at a faster pace. Since 1993, the worlds oceans have risen at the
rate of 3.2 c.m per decade. Topographical changes, irregular monsoon, sudden
flood,draught and earthquake are the result of global warming. In this very situations a
general awareness is urgently needed. We should have to stop pollution and enhance the
tree plantation.
