I.

SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS
A. Over-all Description of the Barangay
1. History of Barangay Sta. Clara
According to available historical records, Bobon is
composed of eighteen barangays, four of which are located at
the poblacion named as districts, namely: Agropasyon, Tabok,
Cataogan and Borotbotan. During the incumbency of Mayor Pio
B. Merida, these poblacion districts were created into barangays.
The Districts of Cataogan became Brgy. Gen. Lucban, District of
Tabok became Brgy. San Juan, District of Agrupasyon was named
Brgy. Salvacion and the District of Borotbotan was baptized as
Brgy. Sta. Clara, the biggest barangay of Bobon due to its large
number of voting population and land area. Brgy. Sta. Clara was
headed by a native Bobonanon. The first Capitan del Barrio was
Senecio Mendez, followed by Brgy. Captain Julio Fruto, Brgy.
Captain Nerlo Torres, Brgy. Captain Fruto, and Brgy. Captain Eluid
Tagros. During the leadership times of the aforementioned
barangay captains, Brgy. Sta. Clara existed without the so-called
IRA. It was during the incumbency of Brgy. Captain Jose
Delmonte that government assistance to the barangay started.
Today Brgy. Sta. Clara is on its continuing development thru the
leadership of Brgy. Captain Lilia E. Sanson, who has been serving
her constituents for three terms now.
Brgy. Sta. Clara. is bounded in the north by the Pacific
Ocean, at the east by Brgy. Magsaysay, at the west by Brgy.
Gen. Lucban, and the south by Brgy. San Juan. There are
fourteen major streets cross-cutting across the eight puroks of
3,306 residents, with fishing, farming, business and employment
as the main source of living. Its total land area is 46-02-67.

2. GEOGRAPHICAL SETTING
Barangay Sta. Clara is one of the 18 barangay in the
municipality of Bobon, Northern Samar. It is

11. EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES


There is a complete Elementary grade, from
grade 1 to 6 , teachers and school building.
12. HEALTH FACILITIES
Brgy. Health Center is manned by Midwife, BNS
and BHW and CHT members.
13. POWER
NORSAMELCO is the source of the electricity
in the barangay.

Most speaks Waray, other Visaya, Tagalog,

cellphone and other gadgets as their means of
communication. 80% of the families are using
mobile gadgets.
