Comment, markup, sign

To mark up your files:


1. From the Home page, tap the top of the screen.
2. Tap the markup icon:
3. Tap one of the action icons in the top menu.
Set a comment author name

Underline text

Setting a comment author name


To set the name that appears with your comments:

With Acrobat DC open, tap your device's Menu icon.


Tap Settings > Author name.
In the Author Name field, enter a new name and tap
OK.

Add a comment
To comment and mark up your files, open the annotations
menu:

With a PDF open, go to the Home page.


Tap
Comment.
Enter a comment in the comment pod.
Tap Save.

Highlight text

With a PDF open, go to the Home page.


Tap

Drag over the text to highlight.
To change the highlight appearance, tap the
highlighted text and tap Color, Opacity, or Clear.

Strike out (cross out) text

With a PDF open, go to the Home page.


Tap

Drag over the text to draw a line through the middle
of the text.
To change the strike out appearance, tap the text
and tap Color, Opacity, or Clear.

Underline text

To change the underline appearance, tap the
underlined text and tap Color, Opacity, or Clear.

Add new text

With a PDF open, go to the Home page.

Enter text in the text pod.
Tap Save.
If youd like to change the text, tap the text to delete,
edit, change the font size, or set the color.

Draw freehand text and shapes

With a PDF open, go to the Home page.

Draw as needed.
Tap Save.

Note: Use the freehand menu options for undo, redo, line
height, color, and transparency. Just tap to configure the
settings, and then tap the check mark to save your
changes.

Add a handwritten signature

Tap
. If you have not already created a signature,
a screen appears where you can draw a free hand
signature.
Tap where you would like to add a signature.
Sign your name.
The first time you sign you can set the signature
properties such as color and line weight as needed.
These properties are saved for future signatures.
If you do not already have an author name, you are
prompted to enter your name so that your comments
appear as coming from you.
Tap the check mark.

Edit your saved signature


To edit an existing signature:

Tap anywhere in the document.
Tap Edit Saved Signature.
Clear or modify your signature as needed (See image
above).
Tap the check mark.

Change the signature appearance

Tap an existing signature.


From the menu, tap Thickness, Color, Opacity, or
Delete.

Delete an annotation

Long press the comment or annotation.


When the menu popup appears, tap Delete or Clear.

Undoing the last action


To undo that last annotation simply choose the devices
menu icon and tap Undo > (annotation name).

Frequently asked questions


Why don't I see my comments, form data, or
signatures in my PDF?
It may be that you are not using Adobe's Acrobat DC.
Other PDF viewers such as Apple Email may not support
all the features that Adobe's Acrobat DC supports. View
your PDFs with Acrobat DC, and if you send it to someone
else, encourage the recipient to do the same.
How can I list annotations?
This feature is currently unsupported.
Can I comment on password protected PDFs?
No.
