Introduction:This project acts as an important role in saving life of human beings and which is also its main
aim. It is possible in some situations that the patient is unable to get the required amount of blood
at right time due to lack of interrelationship in form of a networked database among the
blood banks which leads to the lack of knowledge of updated record of all blood donors.
Today mobile and mobile based applications have become a part of our day to day life. With the
revolution in mobile computing many great features were added to the field and the mobiles
got smaller, faster and better as the decade passed. This Android application is developed
to easily search for blood in nearby areas for emergency. In this Android app one will get
clear access to blood in real time and right place.
Problem Statement:India's blood banking system has serious short comings. A study conducted by the National
AIDS Control Organization (NACO), regarding blood banking services in India has revealed
many shortcomings, including the decentralized nature of blood services, a shortage of human,
technological and financial resources and a deficit in the availability of blood, especially from
voluntary donors. Even during an emergency, the onus is on the patient's relatives to arrange for
replacement of blood. Android Blood Bank Management System App is a new idea to build a
network of people who can help each other.
Proposed System:The user has to first download the application. He will be provided with two options: Login and
sign in. If the person has already registered, then he has to login. If not, he has to create an
account providing basic details like name, address, contact, date of birth, blood group, email
id etc. The user is allowed to update his information. Once the user registers, he can check
various blood banks that are located.

The user will get various options on screen:

Blood camps
Search donors
Search blood banks
Request for blood
Nearby hospital

Objective of proposed System:Blood bank App provides list of blood banks in your area. A large number of blood donors are
attracted using an Android application. Since almost everyone carries a mobile phone with
him, it ensures instant location tracking and communication. Only a registered person,
with willingness to donate blood, will be able to access the service.
The problem is not insufficient number of donors, but finding a willing donor at
the right time, which will be solved by android blood bank app.
To build a network of people who can help each other during an emergency.
Android Blood Bank app timely updates the information regarding the donors where the
administrator accesses the whole information about blood bank system.
One can quickly check for blood banks or hospitals matching a particular or related
blood group and reach out to them through the App.

Advantages:

This project has a login page which allows only the registered user to login and thereby
preventing unauthorized access.
This system can be used to view all the donor details and accordingly select the right
donor.
The android mobile user will be able make quick decision in selecting a donor.
Usage of this application will greatly reduce time in selecting the right donor.

Disadvantages:

The android mobile user will not be able to insert or view details if the server goes down.
Thus there is disadvantage of single point failure.
