- THE EXISTING DESIGN HAS A OPENING ON
SINGLE/ONE SIDE
- MODIFICATION WAS DONE TO MAKE THE
OPENING ON BOTH SIDES CONSIDERING
Ease of Maintenance
- DURING THE MODIIFCATION PROCESS IT WAS
ENSURED THAT THE MOVING COMPONENTS
SHOULD NOT OVERLAP
- NO INTERFERENCE SHOULD OCCUR.

Major Constraint
The maximum deviation expected as regards actual component
weight and the weight as seen in the mass properties
after modeling was not to exceed 4%
Exact Scope of Work

and then also to create associative 2D drawings.
Duration of the project:
This task was executed by 1 engineer in 35 hours.
Outputs to be delivered:
3D CAD model of the individual components
Exact weight, density of the components as seen from the
mass properties in comparison to physical weights given (with max allowable deviation of 4%)
Associative 2D drawings.

Objective:

Creating the parametric 3D model from 2D Drawing

Work Executed:

Study and analyze the input drawing.

Understand Manufacturing feasibility.

Key Outcome:

Mass & Volume of oil sump were calculated


with the specified density.

Alternative design for current arm rest (sheet metal).
VA/VE to focus on framework, foams and insert
Reduction of 20% material Reduction of 20% labor cost.
Output from Hema :
VA/VE activity conducted at Hema gave the following results:
Current design modified from sheet metal to plastic
injection molding eliminating the need for external foam.
Percentage reduction 15 %

Scope :
Design modification of current arm rest to
incorporate aluminum insert into mould.
